Is this really from the Moon Governor or isn’t it? I thought he said he didn’t use that title anymore.

Is this really the original Sparkle Plenty which was headed on a crash course in deep space or is this a different one with the same name?

Well, that brief moment of (will this be an interesting story) anticipation flew by faster than Gweedo’s goats run when he’s at the barn door!

Just what we need, another trip to see the moonies and their moon coffee.

“MG”?… couldn’t the Moon Governor have just left his real name on the note?…

You know he will want to see “MG”, but who can drive the Coupe even if he goes blindfolded so as not to know where the Moonies are ?  Can Mysta drive one of those ?

Well, after 5 days of technical problems with my account, I’m back! First, a big thank you to the tech support people at Go Comics! Now, to quote Thomas Jefferson from “Hamilton,” “So, what did I miss?”

Hol’ a sec! Diet in shock calls in Dick in a panic when he opens up the curtains. Then he, after getting dressed, apparently where he finds the note and realises what’s it all about doesn’t call Dick back and says what he had found and what it’s about making Dick still come around as fast as he could?

Good! Now Tracy you can tell him that the moon governor has relocated. Right, somebody? He and his people. Tracy, “Diet, your thanking him in person will have to be put on hold, I am the middle of a case”. I’ll get back to you when it is solved".

If I could ask Diet Smith a question, it would be like this. When your staff returns, do you even have a place for the space coupe? Unless you plan on building another swimming pool, the thing can’t stay where it is. I would point out to you Diet that birds are going to make their nests in the magnets. Never thought about that one, did you? Tracy will keep this revelation under his hat (no pun intended) who at MCU would believe him. If a space coupe appeared, will the magnetic air cars be making a comeback?

I would stash it under heavy guard until needed for an emergency.

Moon governor eh? Not tells me there be little green Martians involve in this racket too.

Diet Smith’s double murder will go undiscovered. Since the bodies and the murder weapon are in deep space.

I think it’s a trick and M G is not the Moon Governor!

And this absolutely explains why Diet insisted Tracy come alone (original emphasis)… Er, actually it doesn’t. And Smith will still need to store the darn thing somewhere when they get back from seeing Sprocket and Silver Nitrate playing bridge with garage guy and Annie’s Dad at the Scam Call Center on the Moon. Surely he can’t keep it a secret in the mansion basement. “Don’t clean in the sub-basement, Mrs. Hill, nothing there to get dirty… heh, heh.”

Actually I like the idea of multiple threads running at once, if each of them makes sense. Readers can guess which ones may come together, which are future arcs, and which are just dead ends to be dropped and forgotten. My key, however, was it’s wonderful if each of the threads make sense.

1.)If BO and Gertie end up visiting the Moon COlony again, the Governor is going to wish he’d minded his own business.

2.)The ORIGINAL “Sparkle Plenty Coupe’”(1963) is still wandering outer space,containing three skeletons who can’t hear the PA system repeating “Danger,Will Robinson” over and over.This is a sentimental replacement.

3.)Okay,now how do you get that thing out of the backyard and into a “secure location”?Was that WendyWichel who just hopped the fence?

As to #2 there is evidence from wreckage on one of Jupiter’s moons that show that Space Coupe is on Jupiter. It likely no longer exists and neither do its doomed passengers who won’t be missed.

Such Earth changing technology gone to waste.

We may ask, is this the original “Sparkle Plenty,” rescued and repaired? Or is this only a replica “Sparkle Plenty”?

If the former, we need an explanation of how it was rescued and of whether or not there were any survivors aboard.

If the latter, we ask why “Moon Governor” signed the note “MG,” using a title he has renounced rather than the name he revealed, Thorin.

And are we to take Diet’s closing remark as foreshadowing a trip to the Moon People’s current settlement?

Egad! How far can Tracy deviate from What Has Gone Before in this potpourri of uncoupled episodes? Quo vadis?

So this is from the Dick Tracy Wiki entry for Space Coupe: “Over the years, the Space Coupes increasingly became the objects of desire of the underworld. Mr. Bribery and Ugly Christine stole one and used it to murder Nah Tay by ejecting him while in orbit. That Coupe was subsequently destroyed in a crash.” Perhaps that is the one that Diet was referring to? The Moon Governor “confiscated” two Coupes early on in the Moon storyline, but were not destroyed, at least during that time.
