Lessons from watching Mom

No, Nelson that doesn’t make us even not even close. Your mom my daughter owes me a new toaster.

She gets a new toaster. He doesn’t get a new army guy!

Her first assumption is that the toaster is ruined. Maybe it just needs the burned plastic cleaned out of it. Run it a few more times at high heat and it might clean itself.

What for a world we would live in, if all army guys were toast…. A peaceful, perhaps ?

Does Nelson’s army guy count as a victim of friendly fire?

What kind of kid is Nelson if he didn’t stand there and go “Aiiieeeeeee!!” while the soldier was melting?

Why would Nelson put a toy soldier in a toaster? He’s not a little kid anymore and ought to have had better sense.

How about realizing it’s a comic strip and waiting for a more interesting story line tomorrow!?

When you get a little older Nelson, you’ll find out that you are mistaken!

I like Nelson’s logic.

There’s one Army guy. Where are the others?One hiding in her chair. Under dogs food/water bowls. In the Fridge perhaps. If you put one someplace which guy would it be and where?

Like putting a cat on a toilet, why would anyone put a toy in a toaster?

No Nelson, it doesn’t… that toaster costs way more then your dumb toy that you have many other copies of.

How fortunate they are to be able to see their grandson so often.

Guess that soldier is toast…

This is something right out of my oldest grandson’s history book. Fortunately, the toaster he used to annihilate the Star Wars figure was my daughters’ not mine.

I just emailed him yesterday’s and today’s cartoon. He replied that he remembered all too well the consequences of that little episode.

He said that he’s not showing the cartoon to his 5-year-old daughter since she can get into enough trouble without inspiration from great-grandpa.

Opal, there is no problem here. Just make S.O.S. for dinner. Problem solved. Even the soldier will be happy.

That toaster is probably at least 50 years old anyway.

Somebody is about to get some toasted buns! Kidding, kidding, it’s just that it was right there and nobody else said it. Come to think of it, maybe there’s a reason for that…

I can hardly wait to see the condition of the soldier. Maybe tomorrow.

Run the toaster a little longer and it should be just fine.

Looks like Nelson’s in for a summer job…mowing neighbor’s lawns, perhaps??

Plastic army men don’t get along with 100 watt bulbs. Don’t ask me how I know.

Nelson made an honest mistake. He thought a pop tart was a pup tent and his soldier needed to bivouac out in the field (kitchen).

Technically, the toaster and the army guy are even.

I’m really tired of Nelson. Am I right in assuming that his Mom now has a job and Opal and Earl are the babysitters? I can’t think of another reason for him to be hanging out with the grandparents so much. I must have missed that cartoon…
