The key to a good attitude is not getting all bound up in one thing… no matter what size. If you’re due to be executed, don’t get all bound up in that: Enjoy your last meal! (or something like that).

Frazz, if it’s a hot day, get the roots watered.

The key is what you can convince yourself is good. Kids are better at that than us oldsters. Thank goodness.

It’s all a matter of perspective, how you frame things.

Choose your adjectives and adverbs wisely. As the old knight in the Indiana Jones movie said when the villain chose the wrong challis, “He chose poorly.”

when most kids talk about summer they actually mean summer vacation. Here in Vegas school starts on Aug 17th.

I thought bird is the word.

Are we back to this again — little kids obsessing over their principal’s summertime activities? And apparently a different kid every time?

I’m 80 my new vegan gf is 60, she owns a bunch of rental properties she got on tax sales and from slumlords, I own a truck. My summer is spoken for,

We are both widowed so its nice company, but yesterday it involved two recycling bins tenants filled with trash and the box filled above the gunwales with more trash. But we had a fantastic dinner at a local Chinese, she paid, with my card, she forgot hers. No problem, another tenant dropped off a wad of cash so I get paid back

I’m getting lots of exercise, walking to truck with a load and walking from the truck to the bins, my life’s dreams come true /S

If the Rodney school district is like ours, summer is very nearly over for that kid. Our school starts around the second week in August, apparently so that the end of the school year syncs up properly with AP exams in May. I know other districts where the kids are already back in the classroom. “Summer vacation” is quickly becoming just a memory.

The days have been getting shorter for five weeks now!

This is absolutley true. It’s one of the few things we can really control.

Words really do have power, so she very much has a point! How you talk about things can really shape the way you think about them.
