I always thought Luann and Jack should get together.

Looks like we’ll be seeing all the old regular male types. This really looks like a setup to find Luann a beau! Bernice is that underhanded and tricky!

And since they all know Bernice, how will it not be odd to have her observing from across the room?

Why does Luann have to be involved in B’s project, when she has her own project to do? When is Luann gonna be allowed to do HER work, and have her own successes in her life? It’s not as if this is an attempt (lame) by the writer to find her a new man (not that this should be the whole focus of the ’toon). These are just the same ole same olds. Why not Piro?

I can’t help but wonder how much the guys will know about the psych project. My take is that the guys will have scripts or instructions and Bernice will be actually watching for Luann’s reactions.

Luann could end up rating her interest in each of them, and Bernice could correlate the level of her interest by what they did — body language, manners, conversation topics, how long the “coffee date” went on. Or will Luann be a completely new person wearing a disguise? I’m interested to see where this goes. Nil’s too weird, Ox is never thought of romantically, Gunther’s still hung up on Bets, Les is too edgy and kind of mean (ever since high school), so if Luann ends up dating one of the experimental subjects, it has to be Jack.

Me too. Let her have a decent romance for a change.

Oh Bernice. These are in Luann’s circle. Too much familiarity. Let’s do random guys. Kip? His buddies? Whoever isn’t associated with Luann on daily basis. And while reading Wiki, Luann has been in college since 2014!! She is still around 20 years old after 9years, soon to be 10. Way past time to age her. She needs to declare a major and graduate. BUT get her a boyfriend first…no more puppy love.

It sounds like it will be at the Fuse that they will get together, and they are all guys Luann knows. I noticed Walt isn’t among the guys Bernice wants to be there.

What? No politicians? I was hoping there would be at least one after yesterday’s strip.

This is really weird, what kind of data does Bernice want to collect by having friends talk to each other? I could understand if it would be Luann’s first time meeting them; but this, what is it? This seems to me more and more like a project that Bernice is making up on the spot to get Luann to meet some guys she has a past with, so to see if she can get to hook up her with one of them and get her away from Piro. But if Luann hooked up with Jack or Nil, Bernice would be very unhappy. So maybe I’m wrong and she just asked to everyone she knew? Maybe she’ll get Dez and Tiffany involved too? This is so interesting! However Luann is right, Bernice’s enthusiasm is really suspicious.

Those guys certainly do provide an array of opportunities for people studies.

How stupid is this? She knows these guys too well and they are all friends….not potential romantic interests. Bernice, you are an idiot. Should be boys she doesn’t know. Or, at least juxtapose one or two of the regular “gang” with boys she doesn’t know and observe the difference in body language. Sheesh!

I can see Bernice having “fun.” One is a painter for who Bernice is his “muse,” but did “tickle Bernice’s fancy” for a while. A lech. Another is wondering where the relationship he was in, is going. The last two, who knows what going on with them.

Luann is onto you, Bernice.

AS USUAL Luann has completely forgotten what she was supposed to be doing. Doesn’t she remember a little something called a class assignment? What happened to the imaginative essay or the sky-diving? Her character’s lack of focus and commitment, combined with the ping-pong story lines make this comic disjointed and inconsistent. I’m not sure what it is, but there is something disturbing about continually never seeing an ending or resolution to a story. It’s like you’re reading a book, and halfway through it you start reading a different book, and you NEVER go back to the first book. Lets ask Bernice about the psychological effect this might create LOL!

Bernice is a liar. Luann is the subject of her psych project. It’s called “Why Women Repel Men”.

When I was in college, the Psychology department decided to do an experiment and place some young women in the men’s restroom and young men in the women’s restroom to record and gauge reactions of the unsuspecting folks who walked into the facility.

I walked in, not knowing about the experiment but knowing it was “rush” week for the fraternities and sororities and there were all sorts of peculiar things going on.

The young women in the bathroom were aghast as I stepped up to the urinal to relive myself. One of them screeched, “What do you think you’re doing? There are women in here!” My reply was, “I’m going to pee. I know I’m in the right room, so you can stay or leave, I don’t care, but I’m going to the bathroom.” They fled complaining I was uncouth. Apparently there were enough complaints about that “experiment” the professor was told to knock it off.

My question from yesterday is thus answered. We’ve met them all.

Is this the beginning of the end? The occasion with Gunther will be most revealing.

Bernice will casually pass by, perhaps in her “Muse” outfit, and see if the guys pay more attention to her or Luann. She is sure their eyes will follow her…that’s why it will be fun.

Anything can happen with this caper of which will probably be what happens, but either of two possible directions, neither of which will happen, Bern won’t be able to avoid jumping in herself, or Luann may show who she really might have feelings for, or opposite,

So will Bernice be studying Luann’s behavior towards them? Or their reactions towards her?

Les keeps making progress towards normal humanity. Now even Luann thinks he’s fine.

Bernice must have already got the ok from the 5 guys to help with her project already. Luann must have been the last person she asked.

We have no idea what data Bernice is attempting to get from her project. I don’t think it has anything to do with dating. If Les is part of the group, Bernice must being paying them, he would not do it for free. Ox or Jack might do it for free, but if they find out Les is getting paid, that is not good. Bernice needs to pay all the project participants the same.

It is not clear if Bernice wants all the guys to have coffee with Luann as a group, or one at a time. We have no idea what type of data Bernice is trying to collect. It could be anything. I doubt it has anything to do with dating or setting Luann up with a guy. It is her psych project for her class, so it must have been approved by her instructor.

The dating experiment continues, although some new talent might have been a better idea.

Projects like these, even by students, require that the researcher get INFORMED CONSENT from the participants and institutional approval to conduct the study. That was put into place after researchers got people to literally torture others in the name if “science.” I would never approve this project because it is biased, manipulative, and can cause harm to everyone involve.

I glad Luann held out until she was told who the men were. I hope the meets are one at a time and they are unaware of each other and this project. This can go sideways fast.

OTOH, all the armchair analysts here will have a field day with this! Fun! ;-D

Oh oh, I think LuAnn is onto Bernice on something here. Maybe not a clown suit but something odd. But then, other than Les and Ox, who she sees more like a brother, LuAnn has had an interest in them

I doubt Les will agree to be a part of this freak show unless Bernice pays him.

If she pays him. she’s gotta pay everyone.

If Bern thinks something is going to be fun it means at Lu’s expense.

I’ll take a guess what Bernice’s project may be. When Luann meets with one guy, one of them will have normal coffee and the other will have terrible coffee. Bernice wants to see which will complain about the coffee while with a member of the opposite sex. Or something obscure of that type. Nothing to do with setting Luann up.

Psychology is trending. Many of the newer shows have a thread in the story line about the characters working things out, raging and then eventually talking then forgiving. Some of the story lines paralleled what I was experiencing at one time or other and helped or confirmed what I needed to know.

Bea is going to observe how Luan behaves toward each of the men and then tell her who she is best suited for.. notice that Walt/Piro isn’t one of them? Tricky girl.

You will regret it when Luann becomes Nil’s new muse.

What are you hoping to accomplish here Bernice? Luann knows all these guys and should be comfortable around them. Time to come clean Bernice.

Luann knows these guys. If they act differently for the project, she’ll notice. Not really a legitimate study. Should have been random guys that Bernice, but not Luann, is acquainted with.
