/// The resemblance we see here is plain

to Dwight Schrute, (who had been played by Rainn

    Wilson), or else he

    looks something like Kelsey

Grammer, (best known as Doc Frasier Crane).

While white-collar pillaging was certainly much easier, Olaf still missed the joy of swinging his battle ax.

Good one! As I was scrolling down, before getting to the caption, I thought “Rainn Wilson”.

When Bjørnstjerne Bjørnson (famous Norwegian author who won a Nobel Prize) got Writer’s Block, it definitely was not a good time to take his photo or paint his portrait.

    https://en.m.wikipedia.Org/wiki/Bjørnstjerne_Bjørnson

Humorous bit within the Wikipedia article: When Norway was attempting to dissolve the forced union with Sweden, Bjørnson sent a telegram to the Norwegian Prime minister stating, “Now is the time to unite.” The minister replied, “Now is the time to shut up.”

The most important victim of the coiffeurs and barbers‘ strike :

    He exudes a dignified air/

And he radiates force with his stare/

But it all comes to naught/

Though he tries (as he ought)/

For he cannot control his own hair..///

He’s finding it hard to bear/

But his barber just isn’t there;/

    That wretch, once despised/

    Has now unionized /

And left him alone in the chair..

    What is a “Schrute”, anyhow?

Nuthin’s as hirsute as a schrute who’s resolute in the mor-ornin’..

The object he has in his hand/

    I’ve been given to understand/

    Is called a baton/

    Which he carries upon/

    Those days when he’s leading a band.///

Those occasions on which he has played/

(Though conducting is not his main trade)/

    It’s frequently said/

    Any group that he led/

Left Sgt.Pepper’s bunch in the shade…///

By because we can not hear the flute/

    Or tuba’s deep thundering toot/

Or the reeds and the strings/

    Or a number of things/

He becomes just a dude in a suit.

Portrait of the Poet Bjørnstjerne Bjørnson

    Paste (including the quote marks)

"Category:1885 oil on canvas paintings in Norway" Wikimedia

(syntax supported by the Google, Bing, Yahoo, DuckDuckGo, Ecosia and Yandex search engines) in the browser address bar (or search for it using one of those search engines) and choose the first Category: found and once there find the text string 00337, and click its link for info and links that point to more info (perhaps best viewed using Google Chrome, which can automatically translate most webpages if necessary) about this roughly life size painting.

Again, a larger strip image is shown by (Ctrl- or right-) clicking the image in Mr. Melcher’s MASTERPIECE #3197 (October 3, 2023) blog entry, accessible by the Check out the blog! box after the last comment, and using the dropdown menu (even larger, if you trim what’s after .png from the URL). I have added a comment there pointing to the blog entry with my comment pointing to info about this artist I used to point to here. So far, 2 works by him have been used here, the July 17, 2023, strip being the prior.
