No Sunday Fun Day for us. Hubs has a cold, we think. Doesn’t have the right symptoms for the C-virus, but, we can’t be sure until we can get some tests. (He realized he was sick too late to get any last night.) We had two of our friends over for Turkey Day. Gonna be two fun phone calls to come, even if it IS just a cold.
I know that this isn’t a big deal or part of the wonderful storyline, but I don’t understand Pucky’s clothing in panel 8 and it’s bugging me… Where’s his collar? Where’s his tie? The green that’s below the white and surrounds Iggy’s pen is the color of Pucky’s tie, but it doesn’t make any sense where it is… Help, please!
OT raccoons PSAWashington Post has an article today about a small kitten found as a stray in the Omaha NE area who was sickly when found and died but was tested for rabies because of her symptoms. She had a strain of rabies that is normally found in raccoons east of the Mississippi. A huge vaccination effort for raccoons in the Omaha area is underway and they are collecting and testing as many roadkill raccoons as possible. So far, the dead animals have all been negative but the live vax and dead testing will continue for some time. If it takes hold in the wild raccoon population it could spread to surrounding states within 5 years or less.

We have all been rooting for the BCN raccoons but this is a potential danger not just for raccoons but other wildlife like foxes and both feral and domestic cats and dogs. Many Orbsters work with feral cat colonies and wildlife rehab, so I thought it would be a good idea to pass this info along especially to all in Nebraska, Kansas, the Dakotas, Minnesota, Iowa and other central Midwestern US states.
When my wife and her brother were 3 and 4 they had a serious argument as to whether “real writing” was squiggly lines or jagged straight lines. My wife argued for squiggly.
Quiet celebration with my SO and grown son. Well open the one gift we give each other, usually something njce. Both wanted Baerskin hoodies, we have an outdoor tree we cut from our fir grove, as an exercise bicycle now occupies that space. Nobody uses it. Then Prime Rib dinner
OT: Georgia on today’s comic “The Girl really did do this earlier in the year. Being older in real life than she is in the comic (she is eight now, if you can believe it!) she was able to express herself better, and claimed her scribbles were “a code.” She was annoyed when no one would sign, but finally her toy fox Pippa gave in. The Boy and I still don’t know what Pippa agreed to, lol!”
I adore legal humor. I’m going to try to show it to Steve G in heaven (who is probably very happy he’ll never have to do legal stuff again). If I hear back from him, I’ll let you know.

If no one was going to translate, Ora Zella looks like she was going to eat it. Or possibly the crayon.

So Glad Ora Zella and Iggy could help. They are great purrrrrralegals! And it is a perfectly reasonable contract!

Purrfectly reasonable. Especially the bit where she now owns the moon. A small price to pay for Christmas everyday and candy for the masses. (ミゝᆽ╹ミ)

Wow, angry Goldie! Looks like OZ and Iggy are ready to sign (before reading). And of course, Elvis is 110% behind the Girl’s contract.

Girl and cats must make a pact
To bring them candy by the sack
She’ll own the moon, but will prob’ly share (maybe share)
Cats reach out a paw to her
They want the Yule gifts that they prefer
Will sign their names because they care (much love and care)
It will fill their days with joy and laughter
Signatures, yes, Girl, are all she’s after
Apple pie means validity everywhere
With a lovely spice scent in the air
It’s stuck there to protect them (Yeah, baby)
With an unselfish love that respects them
After they sign, Christmas is there (Always be there)

Elvis-Anum: It’s good to see you, Mag-Lor. You have a very interesting story to tell.
Mag-Lor: I’m glad you can translate it from Tengwar into hieroglyphs.
Beatrixia: Your translated scrolls are in the Very Good Library.
Mag-Lor: And the originals I keep in the box Iggy created.
Bea: I remember that. He gave it to your father to keep the silmarils in.
Mag-Lor: Now it houses an even greater treasure.
Elvis: I found a Tengwar scroll I’m having a bit of difficulty translating. It appears to mention the moon.
Mag-Lor: So it does. This looks like a deed to the moon.
Bea: But no one owns the moon.
Mag-Lor: I would say we all do.

One of my favorite poems (which is now in the public domain, so I can share it.)
Silver
—Walter de la Mare
Slowly, silently, now the moon
Walks the night in her silver shoon;
This way, and that, she peers, and sees
Silver fruit upon silver trees;
One by one the casements catch
Her beams beneath the silvery thatch;
Couched in his kennel, like a log,
With paws of silver sleeps the dog;
From their shadowy cote the white breasts peep
Of doves in a silver-feathered sleep;
A harvest mouse goes scampering by,
With silver claws and a silver eye;
And moveless fish in the water gleam,
By silver reeds in a silver stream.
