Okay, why is Puck thanking Lupin for toppling the books? The only thing I can think of is that he has the same opinion as Goldie.

I suppose after the excitement of covering a war, going back to covering the quotidian life in the Big Pink House can be a bit boring.

Well it’s only toppling a pile of books. A recent foster dog had a taste for fine literature. My wife couldn’t keep books on a low table without the dog eating them up. What a zest for knowledge!

Goldie, in service to Odinson, Thor , the god of hammers….no Thunder. Burt is also in service to the god of thunder (but he came for the hammers)

Puck is beloved by all but no more so than by Jörd , in Norse mythology, a giantess, mother of the deity Thor and mistress of the god Odin. Of course, in Marvel terms Freya was his mother….except recently in the comics Midgard it was further confirmed that the Goddess of the Earth, Gaea was Thor’s real mother, rather than the adoptive mother he’d known Freyja (Odin’s wife).

Puck is also kin to Balder the Brave , son of Odin and Frigg (Freyja in Marvel)

Looks a lot like when I carry too many books at once because I hate making round trips. Libraries are dangerous, man. Imagine if Lupin worked at a library instead of a news network, LOL.

Quiet and boring news would be good, I think.

He is so pleased with himself! Lupin is so fun!

The strip reminds me of the old story about two cops on their beat. Throughout their beat, it was quiet, until the rookie said; “Sarge, it’s been a quiet night, and we only have 10 more minutes on our beat.” The veteran groaned, for no sooner had the words left the rookie’s lips, there was a call about a barroom brawl in one of the more notorious bars in town. “Next time we have a ‘quiet night’ and our beat’s about to end, keep your mouth closed!”, growled the veteran as he flipped on the lights and siren.

If Lupin ever needs a new wrestling costume, he could be “The Big Bang”! He’d look fancy in black fabric and sequins (for stars).

Georgia, Georgia, Georgia, Get with the times girl. That should have been an iPad that got knocked over, not books. Anybody who’s anybody doesn’t read paper books these days, they read everything on the phone, tablet or laptop, which is where I am reading this strip right now.

Proof of the old adage: If the world was flat, cats would have knocked everything off of it by now.

My cat George is good at toppling things. I have a stack of books by my bed and also usually have my iPad there at night. He has knocked the pile over more than once. I call him my bull in a china shop because he is always knocking things down. :)

Nope, nope. Stacks & piles of books here. Get my magazines on tablet only because nobody wants the paper ones and hate to throw them out. Course, I do have tones of books on kindle too. Readers will read no matter what the books are made out of.

We have an entire room dedicated to books, and the piles of books elsewhere continue to grow. Comment, Dr. Harwood?

I thought I posted that in their 2 am zoomies, my house panthers manage to knock several books from the bookshelves. Quite upsetting (in both senses) to the books’ arrangement.

Puck (whispering – don’t tell anyone) – is genuinely thankful to Lupin for doing something to relieve the “quiet”.

Book knocked over hilarious – technology knocked over on no! how much this is going to cost me – a.k.a., the button that makes the man scream

I didn’t want to post in the big debate thread. I don’t understand why there has to be a war between those who prefer electronic books and those who prefer paper books. I encourage reading in whatever form works best for your eyes.

For me, the Kindle was like a miracle. I wrote this in my journal in January 2008 about my frustration in dealing with ocular myasthenia. “I just wish that I could still read. I miss reading most of all.”

Then, in October of that year, I took a chance and bought a first edition Kindle. I wrote this in my journal afterwards. “I spent most of yesterday reading instead of watching DVD’s. I can’t believe I’m actually reading books again. It’s like a miracle.” I knew I missed reading, but I didn’t realize how much until I was able to read again.

I still buy the paper BCN books because the Kindle editions are too hard to read on a Kindle, and the Kindle app no longer works on my ancient computer.

That’s what you get for saying the Q-word!
