At least Heart’s knowledge of history is on target. 600 BC is about right.

I love a Sunday strip with 9, count them n-i-n-e! panels. Beats the heck out of a certain other strip that barely does three panels on a Sunday. All that wasted real estate..

I had to do some serious reading for work the other day and it made me sad how terrible my attention span has gotten. If internet use affects me, a full grown adult who matured during the 80s and was always great at academic activities, this badly, I worry about the upcoming generation who never did learn to focus without it.

There’s really only one thing you can count on these days: you’re fingers.

I don’t think you can just hand a kid an abacus and expect them to know how to use it.

When I was a kid, my dad made me an abacus in an attempt to help me with my rather unfortunate math grades. However, neither of us knew how to uze it to solve math problems, so it ended up being more of an objet d’art than a functional tool. It was colorful, though.

It’s just Pre-Algebra, not calculus or rocket science. Yet.

Sorry Heart. No distractions. This is why you still see regular calculators on sale.
