    As a kid, I was pretty omnivorous, and ate just about anything Mom put on my plate … exceptfish sticks!! I’d go to bed hungry rather than eat that marine garbage.

    My opinion of that ersatz seafood has never changed!

    That used to be the only fish I would eat. Nobody told me how to eat around the bones of the others. I took a bite and spent five minutes picking out the bones. Another bite… MORE bones? When I finally finished that one bream, I didn’t try again until my early 20s. Flounder was great. Bones all on a plane, none above, none below.
