Five people dead. I had kind of forgotten about “the collector” across the state line. It’s taken a while for Tracy to come to the conclusion that there is a serial killer. I kind of thought that when there were only two bodies.
Look out !!! Tracy means bizniss now. Let the steamroller roll, we got us a multiple killer all wrapped up in one person. I hope Sam gets to do something besides deadpan dialog.
Well, for you complainers, they are going to plan some action. They’ll need some Powerpoint slides, Gantt charts, and a waterfall schedule. So within a week or so we should have some. Wait, there’s the Thanksgiving break. Mid-December for sure.
A stabbing serial killer eh. Not tell me killer wear black clothes and gloves too. Obviously this story “inspired” from one of em bad giallo but minus all the sleaze.
It took tracy SEVEN THOUSAND WEEKS to determine that this is a serial killer? Jessica Fletcher would have had this solved in two days, Scooby Doo in under an hour
TRACY: “Let’s see…we can connect the Backroom Guy, Caxton, and the Collector with Libris. That leaves the courier and Manutius…Too bad we don’t have anything like a LOGBOOK to placed Libris at Pfister the last day Manutius apparently can be identified as alive…”
1- SAM: So that’s… blah blah blahLEE: Good thing we got Sam around to keep score snarkLIZ: Yeah. We might miss charging the killer with one or more of the murders without him – har har…
2- DT: That’s great, Sam. Why don’t you write that on the whiteboard and then we won’t have to hear you talk until the count changes? SAM: But chalk won’t show up on that.
I’m not a professional criminologist, but I’m not sure Libris qualifies as a “serial killer” … she doesn’t seem to kill just for the sake of killing, but kills to further her criminal activities, which seems to have something to do with rare books & manuscripts. Hard to believe we’re like 3 months into this story, & we’re still trying to figure out what the crimes are.
Ye gods! Tracy has figured out at last what most of us recognized long ago! Five (or should it be six?) dead in this case means we’ve got us a Serial Killer on our hands! Sure, there is a connection to rare books or manuscripts (which could point to someone) that seems to motivate the killer but five (or six) dead are still five (or six) dead. This is still a Serial Killer. And, yes, the Serial Killer does have a predilection for stabby things as Weapon of Choice (which also could point to the same someone).
Now, if only Tracy and his band of peerless crime solvers could put even just these clues together, someone might be declared at a minimum a Person of Interest.
