As always, Elvis is left to ask the truly important questions. Why birds indeed? Is there some secret message here? Maybe a code of some kind? We need BCN’s hard-nosed journalist, the only Cat with the experience to get to the bottom of this story!
The side dishes are done before the turkey is even in the oven? That would be OK if the side dishes were in the fridge waiting to be warmed up, but it’s not good that the side dishes are on the table ready to be served.
I feel like a kid watching an episode of Mutual of Omaha’s Wild Kingdom. I can hear Marlin Perkins’ voice in my head, as that flock of napkin swans gets hunted down, one by one, by the fierce tortie tiger.
We just set it in the garage for a couple of days. If it still needed defrosting, it was plopped in the kitchen sink and left with the cold water running.
That was the job of the kids during Thanksgiving prep. While one was occasionally in the kitchen helping out, one or both of us were in the dining room setting the table and then playing the “Keep the Kitties Off The Table!” game.
Just asking for good vibes and healing thoughts for my nephew. He fell off a ladder on Tuesday and is in the hospital overnight with 5 broken ribs and a broken collar bone. He’s a good kid (kid—soon to be 41!) and has had a rough time health wise these past couple of years. THANKS in advance to you all, I don’t get on the computer very often so please don’t think I’m ignoring your support.
Frodo has passed into the depths of Mount Doom, and he asked me to pass the following on:
First, to somebody named “ROBIN dude, you live here?"
Now, having cast the one ring into the mountain of fire, Frodo returns to his pleasant self and says, _"Here at the start of our Holiday Feast, I wish for nothing but the best for all you Baggins. As my Uncle said, all those years ago: “Alas, eleventy-one years is far too short a time to live among such excellent and admirable hobbits.”
He further said, “I don’t know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.”
All this Hobbit has to offer is, “I wish you all a good feast, and second good feast after first dinner”.
Funniest turkey story I heard was from a friend. Her first Thanksgiving at her in-laws went well. They all had a lot of fun together until mid afternoon when one went to check the oven to see if the turkey was done. No turkey. Frantic house search revealed the turkey was sitting defrosting as no one had thought to put it in the oven! My friend said they had hastily cooked pasta for an early dinner and then turkey late at night!
Martha Stewart goes one better. Just read she has actual stuffed turkeys on the table, taxidermist stuffed, not dressing stuffed!! Women has been hanging with Snope too long!!
Happy Thanksgiving to all! Giving thanks for all the friends here, all of our precious pets, and for Georgia for making this wonderful place possible for us!
There are some great photos of the IRL cats on Georgia’s FB and Insta. I love the wide shot of the living room with the find all five cats challenge. Plus a cute closeup of Puck and OZ.
Yikes! I saw a headline on my news feed that read, “Rainbow Bridge between US, Canada closed following vehicle explosion.” It shows how untraveled I am that I didn’t really there actually was a rainbow bridge somewhere. I hope it was an accident and not something worse. The thought of somebody blowing up the mythical Rainbow Bridge gave me chills. My area is near the most recent Walmart mass shooting incident, so those of us around here are are a bit jumpy right now.
“The MRI did not happen. I was mis informed about the price. They want $6,000ºº for that.We still saw the neurologist. She told me that QT either has Meningitis or a bran tumor. We are treating for the Meningitis. The tests with the neurologist cost $954.55.Thank you all that have donated already. At this point i think that i am covered for what i can do for her.At this point i’m just waiting to see if the antibiotics are going to do anything.Thank you all again.”

Mother used to put the turkey in the oven the night before, at a safe low temperature: 225F/105C. It would be ready by midday.

The napkins look like turkeys to me. Where’s Lupin? Does OZ have plans to fall into the dressing again?

If it isn’t thawed, they’re doomed.
For those in the US, enjoy yourselves tomorrow.

If all that food is just there just waiting to be stolen, where are the Robber Mice?
Are they waiting for pie?

I’m a little concerned with Goldie’s "allegedly ".

What is the word or phrase describing the meaning of Goldie’s paw held to the opposite side of her mouth? I can’t come up with it.

Last night update from Happy x 3 about QT Pi….
“Update. QT has either a brain tumor or meningitis. We are treating her for that. Hope.”
I just checked and the Gofundme is moving up but no additional info from Happy about other means of support.
Wishing QT Pi all the best and hoping it is the treatable problem. Many pets and boops little pup.

It’s the day before bingeing, when at the Pink House
Happy cats are all purring, but no Robber Mouse??
The napkins were folded like white birds perching there,
Iggy’s thrown up his arms like he just don’t care ❤️
The sides are all made and are snug in the fridge
While the fur babies are hoping for more than a smidge
The turkey is thawed and the table is set
Waiting for a Thanksgiving they won’t soon forget
Happy feast day to all and a huge appetite!

Meanwhile, Back on the Nile
At the Royal Palace
Thomios: Do we have everything packed and ready for the trip to Uncle Floof’s Culinary School?
Sue Chef: Yep. The loaves of fresh bread are all baked. The Chocolate Everything desserts are ready, and the apple and pumpkin pies are ready to go.
Thomios: And the potato launchers are all secure. We don’t want anyone to be tempted to have an impromptu potato shoot.
At the Artisan’s Studio
Maat-Tilda: We have all the fine linen napkins folded into beautiful shapes. They look like swans, or maybe ducklings.
Sophititi: I don’t remember them being all lined up like that.
Adobe Style: I think we have Iggy here to thank for that.
Iggy: They looked like they needed to be arranged just so.
Tillie: Well, it’s good to have all your ducks in a row.
