I’d bet Pearl was one of those students who studied obsessively and raised the curve really high for grading tests just to show off. Rotten Memorizers! /s
I used to have an aunt who would get her Christmas shopping done with after Christmas sales. Imagine buying presents that you think people will like in a year but not get themselves during that year. She amazed me at her success.
I’m not quite that bad. I do shop during the year, though. If I see something, I generally get it. and put it away. I don’t have family except my sister and husband and only a few friends so it’s not bad. And, the friends are very specific regarding gifts.I will also admit to having Valentines bags all ready and done for two friends.Same with their birthdays – one in March and one in Oct.A third friend and I decided a few years ago that we would stop birthday and Christmas gift giving. Our birthdays are 2 weeks apart and a few weeks before Christmas. If we see something, we get it and give it right then. In fact, I just sent her a really pretty paperweight with wolves and she loves it.
I bought some Cinnabar fragrance in early December and put it away. When it came time to wrap the thing up, I couldn’t find it so I went out and bought another. After New Years day, I accidentally found the missing bottle. Struck down by another senior moment!

This reminds me— I haven’t heard that expression in a long time. I guess it’s been a while since I made someone feel sick.

They would have been for this Christmas, but the time got away from me.

Not a bad idea, given the likely high increases in prices over the next 10 months. Gotta keep feeding those poor millionaires.

If I did my Christmas shopping now, nobody would get anything because I would forget where I hid the presents.
