Bernice and Luann as Laurel and Hardy was a cute touch, I think it’s kind of amusing that she pictured a miniature bowler hat on Piro’s head too.
Obviously, with the reminder now obligating Bernice to speak no dialogue, she’ll proceed to do overexaggerated, slapstick pantomime to convey all the juicy details of Piro’s angst. (This meddling, gossipy girl is going to be a therapist, right? She’s actively showing this much inner conflict about breaking someone’s confidentiality over such lukewarm gossip?)
It’s a clever way to represent Bernice’s inner worries about telling Luann about what Piro said about his family — and about her and Tara. She knows she shouldn’t but worries that she’ll break her promise, and Piro will find out. I hope this ends after the movie with Bernice telling Piro he should tell Luann and Tara he has some home responsibilities and doesn’t need jokes or thrills (but thanks them for the effort). Then he’s already told the “secret” and shown some agency in his own life.
What? What? His mom WHAT? This is just getting interesting. OK. It isn’t. BRING BACK ANN❤️EIFFEL NOW! Her movies, silent and otherwise are a LOT more fun than Burnoose and LeeAnn in man drag. Not that there’s anything wrong with that. At least for some of you lowly unworthiest. We know who you are >;) Happy Leap Day and Count…OUT!
The size of Bernice’s mouth and the way it is drawn is funny. The silent movie is symbolic of her need to be silent as well as Piro’s craving for it. Hopefully the purpose of these scenes is to portray Bern’s mental reflection as opposed to predicting what will come. Hopefully she is at least struggling with Piro’s request and that she’s starting to see herself.
I looking forward to the flash forward arc of the gang in their future lives: “Local family therapist embroiled in sex scandal; colleagues claim ‘open secret’ goes back years”
YES! They really did it! They show the “Bigmouth Bernice” movie and she’s Laurel while Luann is Hardy! How nice to see Greg Evans’s most beloved comic duo transformed into the main friend duo of his strip. I love when Bernice’s imagination takes control and makes her have these weird fantasies/dreams where usually everything go wrong, it seems to be a characteristic of her and shows very well how much anxiety she has inside. I really want to see what weirdness “Bigmouth” Bernice will do and I hope there will be a chance to also see Hardy’s funny expressions and his typical CameraLook made by Luann.
I would have thought that Bernice would have been taught about the HIPAA laws immediately in school. When I was in school for Physical Therapy it was before the Hipaa laws were enacted but we were told over and over again about protecting a person’s private information.
“The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) is a federal law that required the creation of national standards to protect sensitive patient health information from being disclosed without the patient’s consent or knowledge.”
Of course Piro is not an actual “patient” of Bernice’s but she must have been taught about keeping private information private. Or perhaps daydreamed her way through that class.
If any one has seen Mel Brooks parody movie called Silent Movie the one part of the movie that there is vocal dialogue is Marcel Marceau saying “no” in french.
Funny Laurel and Hardy effects on the girls! Fun design and effect today, but I will be really surprised if Bernice can refrain from chiding Luann about the constant jokes. Maybe she can do it without divulging she had a conversation with Piro, something like “don’t you think a person would get tired of hearing you constantly making jokes?” It would make it easier if Luann would come home and see him there, then she would ask Bernice what’s going on.
This reminds me of the time that YouTube, as something of an April Fool’s joke, made every single video on the site look like an old silent movie (though to be fair, I think it was like the 100th anniversary of the first silent film at the time).
If Bern, can’t keep a secret maybe she should be a commentator on TMZ and not a therapist. She seems better suited to gossip instead of helping anyone.
It went silent when Bernice was about to talk about Piro’s mother. She told him she would zip her lip. He heard her saying something about it to Luann and, of course, he is upset. Now, who can he trust?
Don’t really understand the point of this one. Is it really THAT HARD for Bernice to keep her mouth shut? How is she ever going to respect doctor-patient confidentiality if she becomes a practicing psychologist?

Oh Bernice, you just can’t keep a secret, then you telling to Luann of all people, a person that Piro wants nothing to do with right now.

In Jewish law, there’s something called “lashon hora”, making it a sin to both spread and listen to gossip (which is what private confession is).
That law would put many a yenta (including Bernice) out of business!

Mebbe Bernice an Piro’ll make a silent movie. At least silent enough as to not draw Frank and Nancy’s attention

Oh, Look!
It’s Lauren and Hardy-Har-Har!
Bernice Reminds Me of an old gospel reframe that goes like:
“Well I said I wasn’t gonna tell nobody, but I couldn’t keep it to MYSELF!”
It also reminds Me of a WWII home front motto:
”LOOSE Lips, SINK (Relation)Ships!” ;-)

Somehow, I knew the old silent movie would go on. And Bernice’s face when she’s about to tell everything to Luann is so… disconnected.
