As a luddite, he should know nothing about what he can use a computer for.

Like science deniers merrily using their cell phones and computers to let everyone know how science is false.

The early Luddites had no concept of computers, but they did hate the technology of steam engines …etc.

Their yearning to go back to simpler days is commendable, but not function-able in the backlash of modernism!

Like the computers that monitor your life support systems for failures and precisely time rocket bursts to keep you in a stable orbit? Thoze computers? Maybe wait until you’re on the ground before shunning computers.

“Oh, yeah. Hey, I’m starting a Troglodyte Community on the R. U. Sirius, want to join?”

Welcome to the modern Luddite Society where we work to do away with machines that are threatening people’s future. We are against machines that take the place of jobs that people should do. If you want more information about us and what we stand for, please leave your name and a contact number after the beep.

Didn’t the Luddites sabotage the equipment that was taking away their jobs?

If he’s going to be a Luddite, he’ll have to stop using the oxygen generator.

Worth researching: the origin of the word “sabotage.”

Today’s hint: sabots were French wooden clogs. And clog they did: the first mechanical looms.

The off-the-grid people puzzle me. I come from Southern farming families who spent generations trying to get on the grid.

Every generation has a back-to-nature movement. The problem is that “nature” will only support small, isolated tribes who are willing to suffer occasional famine and population decimation.
