I suppose it’s not impossible that Warbucks depended on Tracy before he met Punjab or the Asp or Annie (in fact, before Annie was born). I suppose it goes with what Mike has written the last few years that Tracy has known Warbucks for many years.

Poor little girl, forced to knell before the almighty Warbucks, while a stranger in a trench coat looks on with a sinister look in his eyes!

This has all been a tad boring!

Watching Firestrike get rejected by the goats is way more entertaining than this story is!

Actually, Daddy Warbucks DID have the Asp when dealing with Boris Sirob, and the Asp also got killed and restored by Am the Immortal! (I remember reading the rerun strip in the mid-’70s!)

Looks like a genuine moment of affection going on here. Tracy has a look that takes us back a few years. I find his Rock of Gibraltar look somehow curiously re assuring, like nothing bad can happen while he is present because it would not be ‘prudential’ for anyone to try.

How come Big Daddy Ollie is allowed to chug on a ceegar and poor old samuel cant puff on a cigarette

I’m guessing the story line is going to be entirely flashback to ten years ago when Annie was orphaned. It will give us a reason Warbucks wanted to foster Annie. There will never be a reason for why Warbucks needed Tracy there (off his job at the MCU) to hear the story.

Annie remembers what happened “years ago?” Look at her. How old does she look? How old was she then, five?

I like this arc. Interesting story, and the art is good. (I also like to poke the trolls here;)

Hey,Punjab came along in 1935,2 years BEFORE The Asp. But when Asp was introduced, Gray wanted the focus to be solely on him. I don’t think they shared a scene until 1939—Axel had Annie in the Mexican hacienda

So from 1931 to 1935, maybe Warbucks had to depend on the local cops for protection.
