Calvin reminds me of Daffy Duck in a cartoon where he and Bugs accidently tunnel into the Forty Thieves’ cavern full of stolen gold and jewels. Daffy yells at Bogs, “Mine, mine, mine!! Back, back, back!! Go, go, go!!” as he pushes the “wabbit” back down the hole. Can’t remember the name of the cartoon, though.
Darn. I was hoping for the one where Calvin imagines himself as a songbird. The next 2 panels show him loudly singing, “On Top of Old Smokey, All Covered With Cheese…”.
reading GoComics between the encroaching ads, the 2" banner at the top, and popups all over the place is getting to be a challenge. Am I the only one who never reads them.(especially the Spanish language Army Recruiting)
I can relate to Calvin. When I was about his age, I think I could’ve ate a whole bucket of KFC when they used to be tasty. I’d go follow behind my sister, who was a sloppy eater, and clean up the leftover meat still on the bones. Howevert, If I confronted my parents the way he did, I’d be laying on the ground, asking no one in particular, if they got the number on that bus!
For those that get MeTv, Saturday mornings are full of cartoons, for 3 hours… 7-10. Popeye, 7-7:30, Tom & Jerry, 7:30 – 8, stoopid Woody Woodpecker for a full hour (jerks!), and Loony Tunes from 9-10.Sunday morning has The Flintstones 10-1130, then, The Jetsons, at 1130. And, best part? As of right now, they are not censored like they have been, when shown! They are also on M-F, at 7-8.

Brilliant artwork, Bill. Do you still make drawings like that today?

Did he get winged in the process?

I’ll bet those weren’t even pterosaur wings. Probably not even buffalo wings.

I’m sure your mom appreciates that you like her cooking for a change, Calvin, but you still can’t hog the wings.
