Lupin really had to ferret out an answer from Tommy there. I can’t imagine the absolute CARNAGE four ferrets would cause running loose in an apartment!

The crashing and smashing is Sophie hitting them with vases?

A pother of polecats! A tangle of ferrets! A lot of mischief!

Ferrets are entropy personified, then they fall asleep with their noses in the food bowl.

That must be heck for an introvert like Sophie.

When I volunteered actively in animal rescue, my rescue had a deal with a local pet store — they took a part of their storeroom and built an airlock, the rescue added a ton of fun kitty furniture (and litterboxes, hidden tastefully within some of the kitty furniture) and would put the kitties in on a rotating basis (those kitties not currently in Kitty City lived with foster families).

The pet store had a cage with one or two ferrets in the airlock, and the woman who organized Kitty City would, when volunteers were present, put the ferrets in with the cats. They got along wonderfully with the kittens, and the biggest danger was that the adult cats would try to scruff the ferrets which, unfortunately, could easily snap their spines. None of the adult cats ever attacked the ferrets (though some did groom them), the ferrets got socialized, and the volunteers got to play with the felines and the ferrets. (Could that be a good band name?)

Ferrets? What on earth is ferrets? Is they some sorta French creatures wearing berets?

I love Tommy in the last panel smiling gamely through gritted teeth.

Lupin, you should understand. You are an experience, also.

I see gentleman Tommy is practicing the principle of “if you can’t say anything nice …” grin your teeth and be generic in your comments!

March 27, 2017: The first BCN newspaper comic ran.

Normally, I would make a bigger fuss over celebrating the Newspaper Anniversary, but considering that we just had a week discussing the newspaper situation, I think I will just leave it at: Happy Seventh Anniversary of being a newspaper comic!

(Oh, and a gentle reminder that Georgia does have a Patreon site, if you’d like to support her more directly than through the newspaper.)

Intriguing. Can’t wait to see who these mystery visitors are.

I feel sorry for Tommy and Sophie.

I’m pretty new to this strip. Do Tommy and Sophie live in a different house with a different Woman?

I picture Sophie snuggled in way up high somewhere (top of the fridge?) where she can observe and write comments in her journal. “Day 6 of the ferret invasion…” Perhaps this adventure will give her inspiration for a some wonderful new statement art.

In other words, it’s been terrible, but Tommy’s Tommy-ness won’t allow him to say anything truly negative on the subject.

Spot just had 4 kittens 2 ginger and one tuxedo and one all black (colors so far) so will be looking for a good forever home for them soon. 2 ginger kittens Romulus and Remus. Black one Inky and the tuxedo Puck II (after the late Puck)

It’s good in that you don’t get blamed for the wreckage.

Smile’s getting kind of strained in that last panel, Tommy…perhaps you might like a playdate with some less, hmmm… rambunctious friends one floor up?
