Maybe if Sophie were to compose something like:Shall I compare thee to my favorite cheese. Thou art more creamy than the finest camembert. The finest textures of a most delicate brie.

But knowing Sophie, the poems are very good! Even if the intended recipient doesn’t appreciate them.

I love the solemn nod, and how everyone is being gentle with Sophie.

Okay I know she’s delusional but that poor kitty

She has all the write stuff…

She’s working her way through it. Very, very, slowly…

Is she writing Shakespearean (abab cdcd efef gg), Spenserian (ABAB, BCBC, CDCD, EE) or Petrarchan sonnets (abba abba cde cde)? Retired English teachers want to know!

So who do you suppose is the mail carrier for her letters? And Wesley’s? I can see an Opossum in that role.

Of course, this is the drama that drives Sophie.

My Wesley’s cheese is very like Gruyère.

Edam is far more red than these my words.

If he had Wensleydale enough to share,

He might descry me, here amongst the curds.

I have seen English cheeses, red and white,

And Switzerland has offered up its ware.

Those dairy products give him more delight

Than all the adoration I declare.

I long to hear him speak, yet well I know

That cheese is where his passion truly lies.

The only thing he cares about is cheese.

That’s just like the Sophie we know. I wonder if putting on her Existential Dread costume would help.

Maat-Tilda: Arachna and I will design the ornamentation for the grill.

Thomios: Then it’s settled. We will have the Holy Grill for the Just Because Banquet.

Sophie, darling, men don’t appreciate that. Beer, cheese, stuff like that, they appreciate.

This is bringing back bittersweet memories.

OT: Jojo is not happy

Tomorrow I am off to Florida to see my great-niece in her high school play. I decided to lodge Jojo at the vet’s and have her annual physical.

I always leave her cat carrier out and put treats in it throughout the day. This morning, however, she wasn’t having any of it. They always know, don’t they?

Her physical went fine, except she has some bald patches due to her constant over grooming. The vet said it could be stress, fleas (although she didn’t see any), or allergies. I don’t know what could be causing her stress, but then I’m not a cat. Maybe Elvis could give me some pointers.

Anyway, she is fine and in good hands. I may be limited in my posts over the next few days. Be well, all.

There is a store that sales cheese by me that has a sign outside right now that says, “You can’t buy happiness, but you can buy cheese and that is pretty close!”

For some reason I am craving a good Wensleydale or Cheshire and whole grain crackers.
