Maybe if Sophie were to compose something like:Shall I compare thee to my favorite cheese. Thou art more creamy than the finest camembert. The finest textures of a most delicate brie.
Tomorrow I am off to Florida to see my great-niece in her high school play. I decided to lodge Jojo at the vet’s and have her annual physical.
I always leave her cat carrier out and put treats in it throughout the day. This morning, however, she wasn’t having any of it. They always know, don’t they?
Her physical went fine, except she has some bald patches due to her constant over grooming. The vet said it could be stress, fleas (although she didn’t see any), or allergies. I don’t know what could be causing her stress, but then I’m not a cat. Maybe Elvis could give me some pointers.
Anyway, she is fine and in good hands. I may be limited in my posts over the next few days. Be well, all.
There is a store that sales cheese by me that has a sign outside right now that says, “You can’t buy happiness, but you can buy cheese and that is pretty close!”

But knowing Sophie, the poems are very good! Even if the intended recipient doesn’t appreciate them.

Is she writing Shakespearean (abab cdcd efef gg), Spenserian (ABAB, BCBC, CDCD, EE) or Petrarchan sonnets (abba abba cde cde)? Retired English teachers want to know!

I don’t read upside down very well. Can anyone read what Sophie has written in panel 2?

So who do you suppose is the mail carrier for her letters? And Wesley’s? I can see an Opossum in that role.

Of course, this is the drama that drives Sophie.

My Wesley’s cheese is very like Gruyère.
Edam is far more red than these my words.
If he had Wensleydale enough to share,
He might descry me, here amongst the curds.
I have seen English cheeses, red and white,
And Switzerland has offered up its ware.
Those dairy products give him more delight
Than all the adoration I declare.
I long to hear him speak, yet well I know
That cheese is where his passion truly lies.
And so from room to room I sadly go,
And plague the clowder with my bootless sighs.
No matter how I try his heart to please,
The only thing he cares about is cheese.

That’s just like the Sophie we know. I wonder if putting on her Existential Dread costume would help.

Carole King and Gerry Goffin, Performed by The Chiffons: One Fine Day
One fine day, you’ll look for cheese
And you’ll know our love is better than Brie
One fine day, we’re gonna find charcuterie!
…….
The Bleu I’m feeling, will be no more
And you’re gonna that life is so much more!
One fine day, you’re gonna want more than cheese, Mac!
……..
Though I know you are the type who loves his Provolone,
I’ll keep on waiting, my love! We’ll share that Mascarpone!
…….
One fine day, we’ll meet once more
We’ll spread Neufchatel on crackers once moreQ
One fine day, we’re gonna find charcuterie!

So are you to my thoughts as cheese to life,
Or as sweet-season’d showers are to the ground;
And for the peace of you I hold such strife
As ‘twixt a miser and his gouda is found.
Now proud as an enjoyer, and anon
Doubting the filching age will steal his Cheshire;
Now counting best to be with you alone,
Then better’d that the world may see my pleasure:
Sometime all full with feasting with your cheesewright,
And by and by clean starved for a look;
Possessing or pursuing no delight
Save what is had, or cheese from you be took.
Thus do I pine and surfeit day by day,
Or gluttoning on all, or all away.

Meanwhile, Back on the Nile
Back at the Palace in Egypt
Elvis-Anum: I wonder how Sophititi and Adobe Style are doing in Britannia.
Beatrixia: I’m sure they are designing a beautiful Holy Grill.
Elvis: It’s almost time for the Just Because banquet. Maybe we need a Holy Grill here.
Bea: Why don’t we ask Thomios and Wally.
Elvis: I’m sure they would be delighted to have such a grill.
In the Royal Kitchen
Thomios: We would be delighted to have a magnificent Holy Grill.
Awhil-Fixit the Seventh (Wally): Burt-Ra and I could build one just in time for the Just Because banquet.
Maat-Tilda: Arachna and I will design the ornamentation for the grill.
Thomios: Then it’s settled. We will have the Holy Grill for the Just Because Banquet.
Elvis: When is Just Because, anyway?
Bea: Any time you want!

Sophie’s song from Rubber Soul (1965) – Lennon /McCartney
I’m looking for you, where did you go?I thought I knew you, what did I know?
You don’t sound different, but you have changed.I’m looking for you, but you’re not the same.
Since you were moving, I cannot hear,Your letter’s soothing, but the words aren’t clear.
You don’t sound different, what is your game?I’m looking for you, but you’re not the same.
Why, tell me why, won’t you my love requite?Love has a tragic habit of disappearing overnight.
You’re thinking of me the same old way,I hoped you loved me, but not today.
The only diff’rence is you’ve gone there.I’m looking for you and you’re nowhere.

Owl City: Fireflies
Please see Georgia’s post on Facebook
Sometimes I need a cry
Then Mothman and Fireflies
Lift up my spirits as I dream
They take me through the open air and leave smiles everywhere
And I know things are better than they seem!
…….
I like to make myself believe
That Mothman flies slowly
I feel like I’m awake when I’m asleep,
Cause it all seems like a pleasant dream!
…….
I get a thousand hugs
From Mothman and lightning bugs
When sorrow catches me unaware
I know that they are always there
When I need them anywhere
The joy I feel will always be there!
…….
I like to make myself believe
That Mothman flies slowly
I feel like I’m awake when I’m asleep,
Cause it all seems like a pleasant dream!
