Well played, Earl

WHY does Opal wants Earl to go shopping with her? She who shops alone shops faster and cheaper.

I see people wearing house slippers while shopping at Walmart quite often.

“Oh, Rats!” Those ratty slippers have kept Earl from the “fun” of going shopping with Opal.

I would love to have the opportunity. My Lady Wife passed on to helping to boss whatever Heaven may be 11 years ago. I always had a pocket book with me and could happily wait for her. Was a joy to see her come past the register and know we were on our way home.

The Pickles are a hunter / gatherer family unit. Opal still shops. But Earl’s hunting days are over. Now, the only thing he seems to look for is trouble.

You know when you are officially old when you walk up to a woman that interests you and you start a conversation. She never takes her eyes off her phone but her mother standing behind her answers your question…..

He’s smarter than the average bear.

Yesterday I forgot to change out of my slippers when I walked the dog but being old no one thought it was weird.

You learn a lot of things when you’re married.

Actually I prefer grocery shopping with wifey. That way we don’t forget anything that’s not on the list. Department store shopping is another thing though. I don’t enjoy that because it takes her forever. She likes to look at and touch everything in the store.

You can wear whatever at Walmart.

The only shopping my late husband would willingly help do was groceries. Anything else, I was on my own.

Earl loves playing games and annoying Opal because he could just say ‘no’.

The Pickle couple is the epitome of connubial bliss. ;-p

I’m amazed that so many people are obsessed with what other people have on their feet. Unless they are noisy, or dangerously tall or falling off, SO WHAT.

Earl is on a roll. Good for him.

Earl is being lazy. Attending his wife shopping, especially on an invite, is something he should do. We mostly shop together and help each other with things we need. She’s tolerant in places I want to go, and I’m tolerant in places where she wants to go to.

Nor, way back, would my wife let me wear my Mickey Mouse giving Osama the finger T-Shirt … suffice it to say.

With age come wisdom.

But you’re missing out on …. oh, I get it.

Earl went all passive-aggressive. Not well played. He was a jerk, having told Opal he would go and then clearly never intended to.
