Hmmm… if she didn’t sound like Callie, why did she call her Callie? Wouldn’t she just have asked, “Who is it??”

Well, aside from having very poor vision.. it looks like Mrs. Horner is doing okay.

Who is Callie? Is Mrs. Horner losing it?

Callie is probably the nurse who checks on Mrs. Horner at the center.

Nothing wrong with her ears if she can recognise Luann by her voice.

LuAnn said 4 quick soft words after, “Mrs. Horner?”….Mrs. Horner recognized her voice from that? Her brain seems pretty sharp to me.

Honestly and so help Me, I remember the old Magoo cartoons fondly.

Especially the seldom seen anymore “Mr. Magoo’s Christmas Special,” which IMO, was every bit as GOOD as the “Charlie Brown Christmas Specials” shown on the networks, before the Streaming Services Hijacked it.

But hey, I guess it’s not very “PC” to make light of a character with a “disability.”

But I digress.

Mrs. Horner? Keep those glasses handy.

Else, the next “visitor” may be someone of ill-intent with an Eagle-eye on YOUR purse. ;-)

This is the beginning of an end. Anyone who has cared for and buried a parent can recognize. Here’s hoping that Mrs. Horner offers some profound wisdom over the rest of the week. Said wisdom should help Luann determine her direction, but before we are made aware of her conclusion, we’re likely to get a bit of a cliffhanger. The strip will then cut to what Bets & Gun have been up to, as it has been a while.

I had thought that, by now, my long-standing prediction of the demise of Jonah Daytona may have come to pass. It could still happen, but Mrs. Horner appears to be the obvious character through whom the Evans will address mortality issues.

Life does go onward, and time waits for nobody. Throw in some tough times, and a good number of folks start approaching their emotional overload points. The current zeitgeist feels a bit dispirited, but the reasons go beyond what I mention here. We are undergoing a cultural sea-change. The tide for one end of the socio-political spectrum is ebbing, while it is rising for the other end. What I’ve been known to take heat for here is being proven correct in the public square, but there is no room for smugness. There is still too much work left to do.

on second look, they aren’t upside down, whew!

Mrs. Horner is right about using your brain. My husband looks it up as soon as he can’t remember something. I give myself 30 minutes to come up with the name or information. Sure enough, my brain works much better than his and I can usually recall the info.

I use the ‘told brain,etc’ idea with my kids. If I bring home something special (cookies) they’ll want some later. After I say yes, they have to find it.

Isn’t she supposed to be dead? Is this a ghost story?

After seeing Panel 2, I’m wondering if Mrs. Horner’s ever listened to the weekly NPR show, “Wait…Wait…Don’t Tell Me!”.

Why wouldn’t you tell her, she recognizes your voice.

Maybe she could see if she opened her eyes.

After I had a bad fall, injured my right side shoulder down. I gave it a lot of thought and research and concluded that I needed to stop taking a supplement daily, that I had been using for around 35 years. For the first time, after a few researches I found results that said it should be taken no longer than 12 weeks! As soon as it left my system the terrible side effects left. I had early onset hot flashes, dizziness, nausea, bight kaleidoscope of colours, falling down and blacking out, This was the first time I hurt myself. I attributed to another issue I have. I feel more pain but I was making my body sick.

I assume this is the end of Mrs. Horner’s teaching career, as she can’t very well handle classes while also needing assistance just to function.

Luann really loves Mrs. Horner. The sweet way she looks at her, the way she doesn’t know whether to help her or not shows it well. She’s more than a mentor to her. I’m curious to see what they’ll talk about and who Callie is. Mrs Horner’s secret niece, a nurse or her doctor? I hope she and Luann will meet and talk about helping others as a doctor. It would be nice if Luann will go on a trip with Mrs. Horner. A special vacation.

Maybe she’s one of the home’s “helpers”…and not an imaginary friend.

Your eyeglasses would probably be easier to find if you actually opened your eyes. Just a suggestion…

Mrs. Horner is clairvoyant. Callie is Luann’s former self before being reincarnated as Luann. How about that for a story arc?
