    Good morning™, everyone!

This looks like an “automat” from the last century. Do these things still exist?

I have a feeling that Lee wants to be seen trailing Sarah.

Well, Miss Phym is either a) member of the Impossible Missions Force, accessing the self-destructing tape recorder with her current assignment, or b) dining at at the automat to save money on her $5,000 bonus & discovering Lee is following her, or c), arriving for a rendezvous with Lee because she’s about to dime out Gabriel to the police.

    @General Trelane (Ret.)

as I refer to both supposed art forms…

    crap and slip slop…

Try Ice Cube’s “Amerikka’s Most Wanted” and subsequent releases. He is a master with verbiage and the songs are little stories, in contrast to stuff I have heard that is nothing more than a platform to spew the kind of lang-gwidge, like you do for us. :-)

    Good morning™, Spotted Coppers !

It’s like Sarah KNOWS who Lee is otherwise she would have been seen as just some random person. Lee looks hungry for a kill.

Do automats still exist? I’m 70 lived all my life in suburbia and I’ve never seen one in person.

Has she recognized Lee? Nah! It is just a coincidence. Yet one heck of a place to have a food fight.

The very last Horne & Hardart in New York City closed many years ago. I almost went there to try it out in 1983.

Historical note: The Automat was invented because “Americans disliked tipping” restaurant staff, which they felt was a European custom that should not have been imported into the US.

My, how the world has changed since then!!!

Archie Goodwin (Nero Wolfe’s assistant) as met here a few months back, was a regular user of the local Automat restaurants.

Hold the Batphone! Horne & Hardesty may have transitioned / rebranded from a laundromat to a self self food take-way shop. Miss Phym is practicing counter surveillance techniques by looking into the glass panel of the food cabinet.

Okay, panel 3 apparently makes no sense, unless Sarah thinks Lee is a mugger.

Sarah would have no reason to recognize Lee. To the best of the Heavenly Host’s knowledge they have no reason to believe the police are looking into their activities. So, she sees a reflection of a black woman, who seems to be looking her way. There should be no response, unless she thinks Lee is a mugger. Lee could simply be staring at the cake wall and wondering what to select. Maybe Lee will ask, “Is that a good choice?”

A couple months ago, when Sam was observing / waiting on X. Libris at an exclusive club we had the final panel of a strip where crazy book lady was convulsively squeezing her napkin for drama. Turned out not to mean a thing. Sarah’s expression in panel 3 is the facial equivalent of convulsively squeezing a napkin.

I don’t mind the anachronism in this strip. I’m just glad the plot is moving forward. I like the dialog-free nature of it, and the art is very good, and drawn to serve the story.

An Automat? What do you think this is, the sixties? Preposterous! Obviously, these are Star Trek-style food synthesizers (replicators in the later shows), curtesy of Diet Smith.

cue the dark ambient music with discordant overtones which, although broadly tonal, is inflected with chromatic and polytonal passages representing the archetypal example of a florid, melodramatic style without being interpreted as an overly heavy-handed metaphor within the context of the thematic material a bit on the frenetic and frantic side with interesting rhythmic devices which seem to counterpoint the surrealism of the underlying metaphor utilizing a novel imaging technique known as positron emission tomography and the spontaneous nondenominational conceptions by expansively recontextualizing liminal narratives of colonic hydrotherapy with a twinge of giddiness

OT: 105 index temp, and what does the Stupid Husband do?

Now, I like soft drinks, but left on my own, there’s no way I’m going out to get some. However, my wife saw a sale and wanted to stock up up on 8 12-pcks. So, there I am, courting a stroke…

Th she wanted to try Sonic’s new fries, so in the car for 20 minutes, waiting for a small order…

I need to check with our insurance provider to see if she doubled the package.
