A friend used to write out the small things that irritated him on a small pad, then burn the notes. Said that allowed him to spend more time ranting about the really big stuff. Looking at what’s coming, gotta feeling he’ll really be boiling by end of October. Either that or locked in his bomb shelter.
I’ve never heard someone say ‘dishing on’. What are the origins of that phrase? I’ve heard ‘dis’ used before, as in ’don’t dis me’. And that derives from disrespect. Dishevel, maybe?
In addition to the names of real people who’ve bothered him, each chapter must also have more than a thousand different usernames in it. Probably a lot more.
“Take a gander folks, in this exhibit, we have a prime example of a retiree in his ‘Sanctum Sanctorum’, his ‘Radio Shack’, AKA smallest bedroom, hunched over his generic Windoze desktop, spewing out sour grapes and unrequited consultations. Note the counter indicated use of Windoze XP. He hates a lot of things, gas prices, Liberals, Luann and Bernice’s life choices, but he also hates change.
He might have more success writing his gripes as nursery rhymes: These rhymes were often used as a way to make light of difficult and traumatic events, such as war, disease, and execution. Additionally, many nursery rhymes were created as political or social commentary, and were used to satirize or criticize those in power.
