John looks very nervous, as well he should. John fears the potential violence that the wrong answer will lead to. Considering just how many comic strips have featuring Elly pummeling John while he is lying in bed (as recently as Sunday July 28, 2024), John is justified in his fear.

I never obsessed about going grey. Also didn’t really notice it turning grey, as the hair around my face hasn’t gone grey yet. So it wasn’t until a coworker said something about how grey my hair was in the back, that I realized that it had turned color. I don’t mind though, it’s a nice silver grey.

My hair was only colored once…. for our graduation prom! Firey red hair! It was suppose to be blonde, but there must have been an error on the bottling line. :P

This topic is very important to Elly. I’ve had the same experience. I don’t know why there is a propensity for women to bring up the deepest, disturbing, or heart wrenching topics just as the two of you are supposed to be winding down and getting to sleep. Does it act like a relief valve so that once it’s discussed, she can relax and not have any inkling that unburdening herself in that manner has caused angst and unease with her partner just as he’s trying to get some sleep?

Good answer … Somewhat supportive … And avoids the situation that occurs when your wife asks questions like “Honey, do these pants make me look fat?” … ;)

Some women look amazing when their hair turns gray. I have found that women with really dark, almost black or black hair gray the best. Thick hair is a must. I have (naturally) medium brown, thin hair. People like me look unkempt (yes, I know there are exceptions; dont’ jump on me for that). I color my hair blonde now. The gray looks like highlights and if I can’t look young, at least I can go for glamorous. But truth be told? If I could look great in gray, I’d do it.

“Silver” sounds so much nice than “gray”. She should try saying that, it might change her perspective.

That said, when people tell me I have plenty of white hairs, I just proudly tell them I earned each and every one of them!

For me I never asked my husband, I wanted to slow the gray hair down that started coming before age 30. Then I went to a tech college after catching up and renewing what I lost in school, to try to find work, age 45 is too old, so I colored my hair to cover the gray, took a while found a pt job could not get into full time job, then 9 years of coloring then let go from job, I stopped, I had to accept retirement. That coloring I believe damaged my hair now I have more gray hair and on SS. I never asked husband what Elly did to John.

Oh, it’d be nice to look like I did (mumble, mumble) years ago. And I could look perhaps a bit closer by doing some things. But at this point, it’d be a bother. And I don’t need more bother. Call it laziness or whatever, I have enough other things that take up my usable remaining capacity. It’s much easier to do nothing and adopt the philosophy that if anyone doesn’t like the way I look, they can look somewhere else.

I always said I would never dye my hair because I was worried about damaging it with bleach. But then I discovered that not all salons, like Madison Reed, use bleach. After noticing a few grey hairs, I decided to go for it and chose a dark purple color. The stylist mentioned that the grey would actually enhance the purple, creating cool lighter purple highlights where the grey was.

Elly’s complaining about going grey at 45, I started going grey at 25. I’m too lazy and don’t want to pay for the constant process of dying my hair.

I decided years ago that I wanted my hair to go gray. I liked the pretty silvery hues my NM’s hair turned but no! My hair is still mostly dark brown due to my ND’s stupid genes and on top of that petty women hate me! LOL Their problem.

Personally I feel that a lady in her 40’s or 50’s should probably color her hair or touch it up depending and maybe let it go natural once she gets into her 60’s.
