Take it from me, Scenic Beards are awesome. And my beard, just like the Maine Mosquitoes, can deadlift a sandwich too.

It took me a minute to remember that Beatrix’s woman is now the bookstore woman, which left me really confused why Beatrix had gone along on the trip without the rest of the gang. Then I saw Trevor and remembered that their woman is bookstore woman. I wish people had names.

Ever since the epic real life road trip from Rhode Island to the West Coast through a blizzard, I’ve really wanted to see a road trip with Elvis, Puck and Lupin. Since Georgia decided to keep everybody in the Big Pink House, that’s never going to happen. But maybe, someday, a road trip with the original three. Maybe Baba and Burt could sit on the kittens.

Ha! Love the shades on the mosquito! But I think Floridia has Maine beat, on mosquito, size! The first time that I visited there, I heard a very LOUD buzz and saw a mosquito that was the size of a 747, land on my arm! ; )

I’m told you can eat Sea Products there.

We had horses when I was young. At the age of 7 or 8, I had a horsefly in my eye. I ended up at the emergency room while they picked wings and legs out of my eye. It was an abominable experience because they had to pry my eyelid open to flush my eye and then get the rest of the pieces out. Horseflies the size of horses indeed!!

This may have already been discussed, so apologies as I may be late to the game (I just saw it on her IG on Saturday, which apparently she had posted on Friday), but has anyone else seen Georgia’s teaser for the BCN Halloween story arc this year?

I laughed pretty hard at the Jurassic New England illustration. I will ignore panel 7 and say it sounds great.

I almost spilled my coffee at “Roarrr”.

One final toaster comment …

One of my favorite children’s books is Burnt Toast on Davenport Street by Tim Egan. I love Egan’s characters and the offbeat situations they find themselves in. Friday Night at Hodge’s Cafe and Roasted Peanuts are great stories, too.

Another thing about Maine: there are a lot of men who wear suspenders and belts. I used to think it was only old men who did that, but now I see that they all look about my age … hmmm.

Fall is just around the corner! Meteorological fall on September 1st, the Autumnal Equinox on September 22.

We used to vacation in Maine when I was a very little kid. Can confirm about the blueberries. They were huge! However, I was tiny.

That beard is indeed the finest kind.

You left out the fact that BCN tells whoppers the size of elephants.

Fleas the size of rats, sucked on rats the size of cats, and 10,000 peoploids split into small tribes, coveting the highest of the sterile skyscrapers, like packs of dogs assaulting the glass fronts of Love Me Avenue, ripping and rewrapping mink and shiny silver fox.

I live in America, and when I get a chance I am moving to maine. its the best place on earth. :)

OT: Does anyone know a different site for certain comics that are not here. Not Comic Kingdom or Arcamax. Kingdom charges and I’m having issues with Arcamax. I have 8 comics I read there.

Back when I foolishly sported a beard for a few years (mid 80’s) We had a tabby kitten named Maddy, who just loved to curl up in the thing when I lay down to rest, until one day I felt a flea jump to my beard! I couldn’t shave that chin rug off fast enough!

If you ask me where I would like to run out the clock, it would be in Maine.

In northern Minnesota (if you don’t protect yourself), a deer fly can take a bite out of your skin so big that you can actually see a hole that it left.

Another thing that Maine is known for is for having lots of skunks. On a vacation there, we kept hearing to watch out for the skunks. Sure enough, one night in our B and B we had the window open and were awakened in the middle of the night by eau de skunk! As you can imagine, it was hard to go back to sleep even after shutting the window.

On the subject of Maine, has anybody else fond memories of Blueberries for Sal?

I live in Nova Scotia and our family always vacationed in Maine. I loved the place, especially the accent (which is similar to Nova Scotia south shore accent). “I’m gonna take the cah to the yahd sale and maybe stop at the stah and pick up some lahbstahs”

They must have fish the size of cars! I had better pack a frying pan.
