There is a looming “crater” of credibility with RO-ZAN, “BARR” none.

Ol’ Roswell seems to have rebounded from nearly being executed by his brother. Maybe he has a funny story for Diet:

“As soon as that troublemaker Tracy left, I killed my brother and finished taking over the Moon colony. Then I decided the rest of Earth looked like a dumpster fire, so I didn’t feel like taking that over anymore.”

“We Lunarians had a quick change-over in political leadership after the Moon Governor’s donor base abandoned him following a poor public performance. I came here to explain because we know something like that could never happen on your Earth.”

P.5. Smith does not suspect a thing. Will he be captured before becoming hip to this ‘invasion’, where he might be able to get word out ?  I hope we get Action sequences with this one. I don’t think Mysta’s eyes are quite her yet. …….baby steps. ;-)

I’m not sure what Ro-Zan’s sentence was for his attempted insurrection, but I kind of doubt that the former Moon Governor would have entrusted him with a Space Coupe. Something is very fishy here and Diet doesn’t seem to know anything about the danger. He does know that his drones were jammed, though, so maybe he will realize that he has to be suspicious, based on that.

He’s (Rozan) up to no good for certain!

“Greetings, Mr. Smith! I am Ro-Zan, brother to the moon governor.”

“Welcome. Did your brother send you here with a message?”

“Er, no. I, uh, broke jail and stole a Space Coupe®. I, um, need to place to crash for awhile ‘til the heat’s off…”

“Never say crash when you’re flying a Space Coupe®.”

Hopefully this story will be quick and painless (obviously theres no chance of either with Frankenmindy involved) and will end up with the modified lab rat taking permanent residence in New Moon Valley as Moon Gov’s 2nd hand…but WHY would Frankenmindy feel the need to reiterate her ridiculous story with Junior and his crew when they already know it….and dont feed me the “it’s for the benefit of new readers who dont know who she is” line either

RoZan? Not tells me he related to Tarzan.

Ro-Zan? If he’s here, then there’s bad news in Moon Valley. On the other hand, it may mean more coffee for the MCU

We have all been concerned about Mike – praying for his health, hoping that he is well. I, for one, was hoping that when he did return, he would give us a really good Dick Tracy story rooted in the classic elements of the strip, which made it famous in the first place – police detective procedure, distinctive villains, Tracy on the job following clues. But here we are – more moon sci fi. I may be in the minority here, but I’m disappointed!

Dick Tracy (the strip) was almost 50 years old when Chester Gould retired. Only a very few years were taken up with Gould’s side trip into “the moon phase”. I wish modern writers would remember the classic Tracy. Just my opinion, folks.

Years ago, before the marriage of Moon Maid and Junior and before the Moon Governor was shown just wandering around the house all day like Ozzie Nelson drinking snail coffee, the Governor threw Junior, Diet Smith and Tracy into a moon prison. It had no walls, cells, or doors. It kept the prisoners in by energy barriers. The three only escaped when Moon Maid tricked the guards and cut off the power. I’m wondering if there was a big power failure in Antarctica which allowed Ro-Zan to escape? How he stole a Space Coupe is a different story that also puzzles me? Perhaps Moon prisons have become as easy to escape from as the prisons in Tracyville.

Wasn’t he supposed to be executed?

OT: HOW I SPENT MY SUNDAY — Well, I’m not eating (or sleeping that )much due to the broken tooth. Worried about breaking of the rest before they can get around to me. As a result, I am sooo dragged out today, making it not exactly the best day to proof audio for the new book. The reader did have fun with the chapters so far., which helps.

The main male lead (who;s terrified of heights, so routinely runs into them in all three books) has just survived the crash of the slapped-together airship in which he’s traveling to the unexplored frozen north, and has (stupidly) elected to investigate a seemingly deserted fortress situated halfway down a cliff wall. Seems like a good idea at the time.In preparing for this, he’s now discovered that, as the (unwilling) champion of the goblin city he’s settled in, he’s been gifted with annoyingly gaudy armor (think full ‘clown car crash’).

This for a hero who haves wearing armor nearly as much as he loathes magic. Of course he’s in for both.

You remember the previous moon governor, the bald guy, Ro-gaine?

Must be an old car to have metal keys.

I really like how Ettinger’s depicting Mysta here. Can’t wait to see how the story runs.

Maybe it’s a fluke in the art but despite the Flash Gordon T-shirt, Ro-Zone here doesn’t have zappy antennae like you ALWAYS see on Mad Min and Honeymoon. Maybe he got a reprieve from the lava because they were able to take his power away.

Did Ro-Zan visit a Uinversal Studios wardrobe sale on his way to Diet’s complex? That shirt he has on reminds me of the ones Buster Crabbe wore as Flash Gordon.

…and I’m hoping for a date from Mysta.

From 8/30:Eric “Guest Writer” Costello, Walt “Crimestoppers” Reimer and I paid a visit to Mike and Carole Curtis yesterday. Both are in fine spirits, and Mike is busy on the next Tracy script! :D
