They had Sera (their dog) spayed in January? That was when Farley was still alive. So it is nice to know that for the remainder of the 3 or 4 months in Farley’s life that he went out really HAPPY. Seeding his wild oats.
We’ve had some stray cats fixed. They don’t fully remove them. They just take out the insides and leave the “holder” in place. It’s a good thing they snip the ears or you couldn’t tell.
I had it done 30 years ago, minor pain for 48 hours. A friends wife suggested he get it done at the same time or no more sex. He refused, he tells me she was true to her word.
Had the operation 20 years ago, took 15 minutes in the office and cost 10$. It was only when they were closing the ends, smell of burning flesh, that it kind of freaked me out.
For years, when we lived in the far north, I worked with my sister-in-law as her veterinary assistant, and neutering pets was something we did often. It’s much faster and easier to neuter a male than a female, and when we were at work, the guys gave us a wide berth.
The story as she has previously told it:
Monday June 25, 2012 Lynn’s Notes:
When Rod and I were first married, we agreed one summer to go to Miami, Manitoba and help his sister and brother-in-law on their farm. He was still in dental school, I hadn’t been offered my job with the Syndicate and Katie had not yet been born. Our finances were dwindling and this seemed like a great way to earn enough to see us through the year. We rented our house to friends, packed up Aaron, who was three — and drove west. I had never experienced farm life and had no idea what to expect!
Monday July 16, 2012 Lynn’s Notes:
Beth and Don were raising pigs and I was amazed by their size. Some sows were huge. On the day we arrived, Beth (a veterinarian) was about to castrate 50 or so piglets. And I asked if I could help. I doffed my pink shorts and t-shirt, removed my hoop earrings, donned some overalls, and went to work. It was my job to catch and hold the piglets while Beth did the deed. Then I’d mark the ones who were finished and let them go. It was tiring but easy, and we were finished in no time. This made a good impression on my hard working sis-in-law — and put fear into the hearts

Having had the 99 kids, I had the snip – it’s quite painful for a few days, with quite dramatic bruising!

In China, isn’t a vasectomy required by law after a couple has two kids?

Jon, are you worried she might try it with you?

John, of course, is thinking “vasectomy”!

Well, there is a little bit more to it than that, but yeah it is simpler than with females. Broken arrow member.

Oh good! No worries about Sera having another litter, then! Saves a lot of mess from her heat cycles too.

If you think John is freaking out listening to this, imagine if Michael were there as well!

Too late. To invoke that scene from Married with Children as Al realizes he’s doomed and fades from being the neighborhood studly to just Al

My father had it done in 1960 after the 3rd child. Made it a lot easier to commit adultery too.Saved on condom costs.

Bad idea-dogs should only be neutered or spayed if there is a medical reason for it. Some vets have evolved.

Not too brag about potency (lol) I had to have it redone, first one wasn’t a total success.

Glad to see they are both finally doing the responsible pet-owner thing. Of course, had they done it before Edgar would never exist!

It may be simple but that doesn’t mean it’s not pain free for the first several days. I was so bruised down there as well.
