Observing that the lead goes to the absolute ends of a wooden pencil, under the metal ferrule, It is very difficult to hold. Especially while practicing cursive writing on the chunky sheets from the Big Chief Tablets (I recall considering this before the first grade. And cannot recall what the class was discussing. ADD, before it had a name.)
I think I’ve finally figured out why kids in this strip are always pointing. It’s because, unlike other toons, they actually have 5 fingers and just love trying out the extra one whenever they have a chance.

Now you’ve got eraser dust all over your desk and pants.

Must be some eraser.

The janitor taught him how to stick pickle slices to the ceiling? Is he looking for more job security?

Why did the voice bubbles all change to blue in the second panel, Hmmm?

This is the Space-X way. Physical tests are cheaper and much, much better than endless simulations.

very good today. Connections made without lecture. Works better than almost any other way except trial and error [if one survives]

I knew about spritzing orange peels through a lighter, but pickle slices on the ceiling is a new one for me. That must involve mayonnaise as glue.

Fling a pencil into the ceiling tile!

I use BiC™ mechanical pencils that come with three leads but only one eraser. It’s much more of a challenge to synchronize.

Okay, I know how to stick pencils in fiber ceiling tile, but not pickle slices. Do you thread them on the pencil? This is science!

Why would Frazz teach him to stick pickle slices to the cafeteria ceiling?
daisypekin01 about 1 month ago
Yes, it would!

If you’re not making mistakes, you’re probably not learning.

If you don’t want your pickles, give them to me.

Frazz would do something like that? And him a janitor??
Ron Bauerle about 1 month ago
I wonder whether anybody’s done an experiment to see how long a line a pencil could draw, and how much of it the eraser could erase…
DKHenderson about 1 month ago
Frazz not only will teach any kid how to launch “ceiling stickers”, but he does it himself when no one (adult) is looking.
