Puck looks so cozy! I, too, have the windows open. Unfortunately, the breeze is humid and overly warm for the first day of fall. Areas to the north and south got rain today, but none for my brown lawn and nearly bare tulip tree.
So today’s streep is online but yesterday Sunday streep is still no online. Them steenky gremlin creatures from outer space. Or maybe it them steenky mices. You is never knows where all they is sneaks into and what all wires and cables they is chews away. Them pesky pestilential pestering pests.
Autumn is the most wonderful time of the year IMHO. Here in SoCal it won’t be cool weather for about another 4 or 5 weeks but still loving the changing light in the mornings and evenings and seeing pumpkins everywhere.
I have never had a pumpkin spice. I will never have a pumpkin spice. I like my coffee black. No latte, no fancy pantsy, no anything, no flavored creams, no sugars, no nothing. Just give me a good cup of black coffee, I’m a happy camper. Actually, I take that back. The only time I ever put anything in my coffee was when Thing 2 was an individual figure skater and I was sitting in an ice rink at 4:30 in the morning in the middle of winter. Bailey’s was my friend…
Here on the Florida Gulf Coast we will not have our first bonafide cold front for another month on average, the fronts usually stall out up in North/North-Central FL this time of year. This past weekend the local meteorologists did point out that “drier” air has moved into the area so dew points are in the low 70s instead of upper 70s and the heat index will top out in the mid to upper 90s, not the 105-110 range which we had about a week ago but still pretty dang humid. I cannot wait for that first cool morning but for the start of this weekend the local NWS office and the Tampa TV stations are focusing on an area of disturbed weather off of the Yucatan which has a 90% chance to develop and head into the Gulf this week so that will be the weather story of the week. Hopefully no one gets a named storm as FL, TX, LA and the rest of the Gulf Coast have had our fill of ****ing storms but the Clearwater and Venice Beach surf temps are both 88, so plenty of fuel to energize a tropical system.
As someone whose birthday usually falls right on the autumnal equinox, I have a special fondness for fall. There hasn’t been much cozy fall weather yet in my area, but I am glad the cats are enjoying theirs.
Around here (northern New Mexico) the weather must have been watching the calendar because yesterday’s temps dropped 20 degrees F from a week ago. But it doesn’t look like it will hold and we’ll be back to high in the 80’s in a couple of days.
I went to log in this morning and got a server error message. Several times. Fortunately, it was resolved just before the flashbacks to November 2022 fully took hold.
OT: My loan refinance closes thursday. Which is also Sara and Gracie’s GOTCHA DAY! So the following week I can start getting serious estimates and begin to fixer up, so to speak. My house, not the girls. LOL they are long since “fixed”,as they have fixed me.
Several folks have announced that Sunday’s strip is finally available. I’d just like to add, even if you saw it on Facebook, please go back and hit “like” and maybe make a comment or two so when folks go through the archives they won’t wonder why there were so few likes and comments about such a delightful book club fantasy!

Puck’s outfit is adorable, but get a load of Elvis’ Sweater! And what a lovely smile he’s wearing as well. It looks good on him.

Summer is thumbing its nose at me here in Mesa. A week of 105+ is on tap. Even so, Puck’s coffee and toe beans are very inviting…

Ahh, pumpkin spice season! Do you love it, hate it, or don’t care either way? I enjoy it, but I would like it less if it were a year round thing!

I think we should just jump straight to the logical end point and start selling pumpkin-spice-flavored pumpkin spice.

Meanwhile, Back on the Nile
On the OPun Road
Alice-Ata: It’s time to meet with Amon-Merchant and Azibo for autumn spice plurals.
Agnes-Ata: This year promises to be a banner year for pumpkins. Thomios is already working on both sweet and savory recipes.
Violet-Ifa: I promised Elvis there would be pumpkin ice cream at the Kat Kiosk this fall, as well as the Punn State creamery.
Ta-Natash: Alright! Ready to head out?
At the Spice Plural Shop
Amon-Merchant: Welcome, Ladies! Azibo and I have a brand new supply of autumn spice for your enjoyment.
Agnes: Just the thing. I was wondering if you have any spiced teas.
Azibo: Of course. We have flavors certain to suit you to a T.
Tash: And some curry spice would not come amiss.
Amon-Merchant: I always say: To curry favor, favor curry.
Alice: And now for the bargaining.
Azibo: As always, you are tough but fair.
