It’s eleventy-seven. If the problem had been 7 + 11, it would be seventy-leven. (Commutativity doesn’t apply if you don’t know what it is).

One of those rare moments where Dad shows concern for Calvin. Mom shows this much more than Dad does.

Answer: 11 + 7 = 7 + 11 per the substitution postulate: A quantity may be substituted for its equal in any process. And “may” is permission.

Take the numbers in the one’s place and add them together. 1 + 7. Then add the ten’s place. What is the answer that you derived?

It’s Election Day. Please ensure you or someone you know can vote for the right candidate, because your vote matters. Of course, if you are 18 or older. Your vote can help determine the results of the election.

I also recommend keeping Project 2025 in mind while you vote. If you need any clarification, please let me know.

Last time we checked in on Calvin and math homework, I believe he was outraged that after spending all of 10 minutes on it (and getting it wrong, of course), his dad insisted on going over it with him. Calvin refused to concede the point dad was trying to teach — that you can’t add two numbers together and come out with less than you started with.

Not much use calling dad here, Calvin — you should have gotten help from Stupendous Man.
