Actually, once the strip catches up to the real world, Jeff will probably be end up with the former Berzerkistan president, working for Trump.

    The Rascal

“Got Nuthin’ “? WTF? Based on 11/5/24 there’s a boatload of excrement coming toward us in 2025-2026 for any creative writer like the Rasacal to develop. It’s my hope that the MAGAts and the 10M who voted D in 2020 but dropped out this year are the beneficiaries. Collateral damage is inevitable though.

—- The recession will start in 3rd Q of 2025 and the depression becomes visible in 2026.

—- Unemployment will be over 6% (trending upward) and inflation is a close runner up along with shortages of some goods. There’s minimal checks on corruption.

—- Police brutality incidents increase unchecked which increases protests and other civil unrest in large populated areas. The model and example has been elected again. The blatant misogyny and overt racism has started already in the general population..

—- Insufficient planning for the infrastructure including the grid, healthcare and national defense which will be steered toward assisting the dictators in the world.

There’s a lot more that can be foreseen and listed based on the demented fat orange clown’s campaign “promises”. The botched handling of COVID will be nothing compared to the imminent mismanagement of the country.

Bottom line is that those who have any resources should develop a strategy to protect and conserve as they hunker in the bunker for a nasty four years now in the works. Good luck trying to discern what if anything coming from the new administration is truthful.

Are Jeff’s books bestsellers, meaning that he presumably earns a lot of money for his efforts, that his writing is a “real job”? I got that impression somewhere.

A few years ago, Alex, Mike’s daughter, was telling the readers that she was preparing to assume the reins of the strip for the next generation. After all, her name was Doonesbury too. She was describing how each of the younger characters would be featured- except Jeff. She told him point blank that he would not be included.

I just realized that both of Joan’s children are creative artists who, even though they are paid for their work (Jeff, although living at home, clearly has an ongoing publishing contract – which is not an easy thing to get/keep – and JJ has had some pretty high paid art jobs, including with Trump in the past) are subject to contempt and ridicule in the strip. What is it about cartoonists who love to put down artists?

I’m here a little late, but is anyone else rethinking what they heard when the Orange Fatwad repeatedly declared this would be the most rigged election in history?

Everyone blew it off, assuming he was preemptively crying sour grapes over a sure loss.

Just ponder for a moment if he was serious and he knew something about the election we didn’t, and it wasn’t the way we thought he meant.

In 2020, when he kept insisting he couldn’t possibly have lost, that it was impossible, was it perhaps because they screwed up by trying to perpetrate fraud over too wide a base, underestimating the record Dem turnout: his insistence that a state could just “find” 7,000 more votes was non-sensical, unless he already knew fake votes were seeded, but they under estimated how many it would take, and he just needed a “few” more fake ones “to be found.”

This time did they figure out all they really needed to do was pump up the counts in enough outstate red counties to offset the typically liberal urban bias in the critical states?

I’d like to see analyses between hard vote counts and eligible voters per county between the two elections, not just overall percentage splits between the candidates.

I’m curious if the turnout in the predicted red counties in the critical states shows any statistical anomalies regarding higher red turnout compared to previous elections and vs the country as a whole.

Did more orangeade fans come out of the woodwork this year over the last run, and do those numbers make sense based on past voter behavior?

If there is strong correlation of higher turnout in some counties/states that is not replicated in the country at large, that could support the suspicion this was… “the most rigged election in history.”

I asked Google ( so, you know, FWIW ) how much it would cost to deport 11 million people (the figure that was being tossed around a few days ago); apparently, it will cost 114 billion dollars.

Again, that’s what Google says. If Google is wrong, fine, Google is wrong.

If it’s 20 million people (as some of today’s commentators are claiming), well, I guess that figure would need to be nearly doubled. IMHO seems like a lot of money to spend on something that IMHO will not do the U.S.A. one bit of good. I wonder why Trump hates America so much.

(I just never get tired of that one.)

I wish I knew why all the commentators are talking about a major shift to the right. What I see is the right gained 3% of the senate, half a percent of the House, and the presidency. The latter was with fewer electoral votes than most presidential election winners and 51.5% of all voters.

That just looks like a run of the mill election. It’ll probably go the other way in the next election.

Bottom line is that billionaires, MAGA politicians, and far right media flooded the nation with lies and hatred to the point their message couldn’t be overcome by truth and optimism.

Trump voters apparently need to learn the story of the Snake, that Trump tells so gleefully, the hard way. Unfortunately, they are taking the rest of us along with them.

Look back to how the French Resistance managed through the Nazi occupation. Hunker down and look for opportunities to change what can be changed.

Don’t ever give up the fight against corruption and hatred!
