How to quickly become a tree hugger…
Hard to enjoy this, having a fear of bears.
“….While avoiding being the communion wafer of other parts of nature.”
Mastroianni is in horizontal mode, or has fear of heights?
Looks pretty thor to me……
Nature can be your friend
(… yet at the same time nature can be your enemy).
because Nature is so sweet and beautiful and cuddly
“The Preacher and the Bear” by Jerry Reed >
Uh oh bad move, bears are better climbers than we are!
Bears can climb…
Tree hugger.
All the bear has to do is walk up the horizontal tree trunk. Duh
The sign said “Don’t feed the animals!!” It should have said “Don’t feed yourself to the animals!!”
…..in more ways than one………science….remember the food chain!!!!
Just bear with me on this one!
Far better to commune with nature than to be consumed by it!
We just have to grin and bear it. Hug a tree today…
Sometimes you get the bear, others, the bear gets you.
eh me neck
As the old saying goes, necessity is the mother of invention.
What’s the difference between a Black bear and a Grizzly bear? A Black bear will follow you up the tree and the Grizzly will just knock the tree down.
within reason, that is!
Yes, since they still hold the highest worldwide forest fire death count, the Peshtigo Fire area residents continue Hugging Trees.
Communing with nature is all well and good until nature decides to commune with you. Participation in the food chain has its drawbacks!
The original tree-hugger!
I saw a video of a woman trying to get a bear to move away from her kayak using bear spray but she was too far and it just made the bear mad and took it out on her fiberglass kayak.
Just run around the tree faster than the bear; or climb a tree and jump to the next one.
Remember a quote from a good lady up in Clayton, Idaho that appeared in the Challis Messenger…. (sometime in the 70’-80’s)
She shot a bear climbing through her kitchen window…
“I don’t mind them rummaging in the trash cans, but when they try to get into my kitchen…
Used to hunt up there….
Good people….
Great home town newspaper…..
No Yogi, but on the verge of a big Boo-boo!
I’ve had a rough day today. This was the last comic I read and it made me smile. Thank you…I needed that.
Shouldn’t the bear be up the tree and him throwing sticks at it?

It’s always good to keep at least 100 yards or more from bears.
It’s also not advisable to climb a tree to escape a bear, they are much better at it than humans.
Frolicking with the woodland creatures, again.
