I did that Thursday. It was windy and raining, and I had to sweep by the entrance.

A clean desk means I do everything on the computer.

My work bench hasn’t been avoided in a long time.

I avoid work by cleaning and I avoid cleaning by working. I don’t get much done.

About cluttered desktops, the phrase I remember hearing was “An empty desk is a sign of an empty mind”.

An empty desk shows an empty mind. ;-)

My desk is not messy. It’s just that my filing system is different.

Cleaning my desk would be considered “hard labor”, so, I avoid it.

I always cleaned mine before I left for the day. I didn’t have a lot of paper work, it was all on the computer, and I had seen many messy desks of people who were disasters.

My desk is in a room which reflects my habit of stacking, shuffling, restacking, hunting, and cussing. Great outlet for frustration.

I just cleaned/reorganized my kitchen, does that count? I LOVE it!

I had a coworker who would sit down to write a memo, and fool with the fonts, layout, bullets, etc. for an hour, just to write a ten minute memo.

I had a supervisor who rearranged everything in her office so often, the dust never got a chance to settle in!

Procrastination at its best!!!

Wait, how can I reply if I can’t find my keyboard.

It always cracked me up when the President of the 7-person company ordered we clear everything away before a gaggle of investors went through. If I were with them, I would have thought we were in Chapter 11. A messy (but not dangerously so) facility is a busy place.

Good analysis.

“Well-organized” and “clean” are two different things, neither of which are bad things.

Had a ceo that used to have the most polished desk I ever saw. I asked him how? "I get my work done, how does your desk look?

I once filled two desks and was working on the third when my boss told me to cut it back to one. Slowed things down, but I DID IT!!

My desk would be considered cluttered ……. “BUT” I know what is in each pile ….. SO …… “DON’T” touch …… ;)

I had cleaned many offices when me and the ex husband had our own cleaning business and some days the desks were left so messy we couldn’t clean them. There were many times the door was closed with garbage can sitting in hallway, we were told when it was like that to not even go in office to attempted to clean it. My Dad cleans a local lawyers office every other week and he runs into the same problems with some of the lawyers.
