I think there was some experiment where researchers hooked two AI chatbots together so they could chat with each other into eternity. I don’t remember what happened.

In an old movie, “Colossus—The Forbin Project,” two super computers take over the world.

Your AI system and mine can have a lovely conversation together, as long as we can pay for the electricity needed to keep them operating.

I remember reading about an A.I. system that was trained using social media. They ended up with a particularly dumb A.I. system. (Might have been a humorous story, can’t recall for sure now.) LOL!

The infuriating thing is that Bots have well and truly taken over ‘customer service’.

If it was an oxymoron before, it’s even more of one now.

When I was working, the part of my day I looked forward to least was opening my e-mails in the morning and reading them. I knew whatever I saw was going to add work to my already hectic schedule and tasks that I hadn’t completed the day before.

Sure. As an ill-conceived lark, I took a paragraph from one of the books in the series I’m currently writing, and let AI revise it. Not only did it completely ignore the overall framing plotline AND rename the central characters in the initial two books, but it churned out several entertaining typos (unless the words involved were in some obscure language I somehow missed an elective of in college), and even went so far as to kill off the lead character.

    In ONE PARAGRAPH!!!!

I can have AI’s do everything for me. Write my e-mails, my term paper and take all my classes. AI can manage my money, buy my grocery’s and pay my bills. AI can get a job and earn a paycheck for me. I don’t need to do anything except sit on the couch and get fat.

I no longer worry about AI being a potential menace. It has to be smarter than the majority of American voters.

I’m sure there are AIs blithely corresponding around the world. Wait until people find they are paying for their chatbot to online date another chatbot at a $4.00 a minute.

Maybe that’s the future. We’ll leave all the work to AI and everyone will get a permanent recess. See y’all on the kickball courts!
