Well, there’s certainly nothing to Grumble about today, but since the fresh snacks have arrived, I suppose we should open the Grumbling Room anyway. You know, just to get ready for tomorrow.

Congrats on ID’ing the Robber Mice! The two in the lower left are Tabitha and Sir Figaro Newton; in the middle, Tommy with the Tommybaum and Sophie; upper right are Burt and Baba Mouse; and right are kitten Beatrix and dog Trevor.

Lupin still keeps as far away from Goldie as possible.

Beatrixia: Elvis, we have a whole set of scrolls for transcribing. And maybe set up for the moveable press.

Elvis-Anum: It’s a good thing I have my apprentices (Introduced March 22nd). It’s always good to have recipes by Better Pyramids and Oases or the humor of Erma Bombosis. Tira and Ebonee, you can make copies of the originals while Akil and Hapi set up the press. And who is this damp cat?

Snowfall Braggart: It is I, Snowfall Braggart, actor extraordinaire. I have been unjustly accused of taking more than my fair share. Not to mention my beautiful fur is now in this sadly disheveled state.

Puckmosis: I have a feeling there’s a lot you’re not saying, Mr. Braggart. But I’m sure Barbara’s shop can set your hair to rights.

Bea: And we’ll be sure to keep a close eye on you. Just to make sure there are no further mishaps.

I wonder if Georgia also used this strip as a holiday card.

And where be Iggy and Orazoozoo? Why thems is ain’t in the peecture at all but even all them steenky mice is there.

Thank you for sharing this beautiful holiday art, Georgia! I know the Orb encompasses many beliefs so I will wish a Seasons Greetings to all!

My little black cat Lucky (a total Puck doppelganger with 4 legs) passed his one month checkup after the radiated iodine treatment with flying colors. We just finished an hour of lap time together reading Breaking Cat News and our Sunday comics, and just enjoying pets and purrs. With Lucky home and happy with Terri and me and his sister Missy, I don’t need anything else to know that these will be the best holidays ever!

The artwork on this one is outstanding. The layout is so perfectly balanced. Each individual tableau contains so many tiny details, like the song books the mice are holding and the book Trevor is reading to Beatrix. And there are so many different patterns in the jammies, the wrapping paper on the packages Tabitha and Sir Fig are carrying, Trevor’s doggie mat, the snowflakes, the hearts, the stars…it must have taken hours to sketch and paint.

Such a beautiful picture!

Must be a few years old? I don’t see Ziggy and OZ…

So much to love today! Just a few highlights: Beatrix resting peacefully, Burt and Baba Mouse have matching sleepwear, Tabitha’s sleep mask! Oh, my heart…every character is so precious.

A very Merry Christmas, Chanukah, and Kwaanza to Georgia and her family, and every single member of the Orb ande their furbabies!

Definitely a Hallmark/Lifetime story line, interrupting the story for a commercial break. They never do that at TCM, their “commercials” are always before and after the movies.

I saved this comic the first time it came out because it had all the characters (at the time). I think it would be pretty difficult to duplicate now with so many characters having been added to the lineup.

Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Happy Kwanza, or whatever holiday you celebrate at this time of year! I’ve never understood the “Happy Holidays” thing—I celebrate Christmas, but if someone wished me Happy Hanukkah or Kwanza, I would be honored and accept it in the spirit intended.
