Crystal’s suggestion is almost exactly the same career path that Luann has mapped out for herself, except Luann wants to be an entertainer rather than a film star. Is this arc leading to yet another Luann/Tiff confrontation?

Sadly, I actually KNOW people who are like the worthless ‘hot chick’ -the world owes ‘em a living just because they’re hot.

Bless little ol’ Tiff and her sense of humor! Of course it’s true that working actresses follow Crystal’s path, and a very few even become stars. Some become successful (in a relative sense), but stardom happens to very few, and not on any merely logical basis. This is my observation.

Let’s just consider the changing of the clothing colors of Tiff and Chrystal as equivalent to the expression….‘and time passes…’. To keep story lines for comics such as this one fresh, the author has to ‘change things up’ once and a while in order to hold the interest of the readers…

The PERFECT “slap-in-the-face” would be the Studio Honcho’s show up, and offer a SCHOLARSHIP at JULLIARD to BOTH Luann (so she can WORK her goal), and Crystal.

PLUS a screen test for EACH on “an upcoming movie in development” - then, send Tiffany out for “the coffee” while “we grownups talk” !

Looks like you’re right. Just Googled it and found this description: " It is significant, in the fact that it is the same finger on which a wedding ring is worn. It is to remind an individual their desire and goal to abstain from sex until marriage. Once marriage takes place, the purity ring is removed and replaced with a wedding ring."

If I’m not mistaken, these strips are done by Greg in B&W, and some drudge at GoComics adds the color. Inconsistently.

Awwwww, I still see big things in Tiff’s future. The Playboy mansion is pretty big, after all.

Even Tiff realizes it— she doesn’t want to act, she doesn’t want to sing, she doesn’t want to dance. She just wants to be a celebrity. And the road to that is different from the road to performing.

Tiffany is a lost cause since she thought Crystal was making a joke.

When actress Barbara Eden first came to Hollywood in the 50s she went to Warner Bros. They told her to go home because “her tits weren’t big enough.”

Uh, not exactly. Tiffany is undoubtedly the dimmest bulb in the Pitts string. While not as intellectual as Bernice or Rosa, Luann works at the library and at least knows that the seasons in the southern hemisphere are different from the north. Bernice, for example, wouldn’t be bothered hanging with Tiffany, but does have a connection wth Luann. .Luann is far too insecure about her looks, not to mention her concern about what others think of her, to hang with either Tiffany and Crystal. Tiffany assumes everyone worships her, and Crystal doesn’t give a damn what anyone thinks about her.

Obviously belives in what Obama is selling. Hard work and Intelligence don’t help people succeed only by having people around you hand sucess to you is success possible.

It isn’t just looks. Actors DO need talent at least. Some didn’t study – however they’re pretty much all better with the lines and body language than most people. Can’t deny that Cher has talent.

Or,as a member of “The Eagles” once said -“Bubble headed bleached blonde”.

and BHBB would be an actress of sorts on TV news . . a celebrity for looking good. Good job for Tiffany.

Tiffany and Crystal both have extra clothes in their lockers...But put both wardrobes together and they do not match the number of shirts—and colors, that Gunther has in his locker, gym locker, and behind the vent grill in the one K cleaned bathroom.

I love Tiff’s teethy laugh. She soo doesn’t get anything anyone says.

If you’ve read the comment section long enough, or some of Greg’s blogs, you would know that he only colors the Sunday strips himself. The dailies are colored by a syndicate colorist. The one who usually does Luann sometimes comments here. I never saw a newspaper with colored dailies, but I suppose there could be some.

Gotta give Crystal props for being practical…

Cher is extremely talented and whoever is her plastic surgeon is as well. Good voice, not bad acting, good with comedy.

There is no reason to assume that to be true. In fact the color changes and change of settings is exactly what implies otherwise.-Now if we’re in an ongoing event and say Luann’s buttons keep appearing and disappearing on her blouse, that might be noteworthy or at lest commentworthy (since comments are worth only one fifth as much as notes).Changes within the single day’s strips are also different since unless othewise specified, we can assume they are taking place at the same time and place, thus any wardrobe changes would be out of place.-I believe it was Duck Soup with the Marx Brothers in which Groucho kept changing uniforms within the same scene, thereby making fun of the total concept of consistencey within a movie.

Tiffany has actually done what Crystal is pretending to suggest; she got a bit part in a movie. Crystal ridiculed her and did her best to discourage Tiffany.’s effort. Now, because Tiffany is the designated Bad Person, reality has to be inverted so that Tiffany seems “entitled.” Bad writing.

So why does Crystal hang with Tiffany?

Tiff reminds me of Paris Hilton.
