It’s made out of Candy Tofu? Word

NOTE to other commenters: what you are about to read may start trouble. It is not intended to, but if past experiences are any indication, it will. I seem to irritate Sharuniboy regularly, so today should be worse. Just move along to the jokes…they are far more interesting. (What a petty person I am…would folks please flag me, so I can feel the pain?)@Sharuniboy I’ve noticed you have a penchant for making arrogant, judgmental remarks on other people’s comments, then never coming back to face the music. So, I am bringing the music to you up front today. The following is based on a comment you made yesterday. Go back and look it up; it’s the only comment you made.Personal questions: (The reason I ask is because you capitalize “HUMAN” learning, as if to set it apart from other learning; you clearly have no use for organized religion [you manage to turn most comics into an anti-religion spiel]; previous comments indicate evolutionary beliefs; yet you highly respect individual spirituality. None of this is criticism, just observations. Oh yeah…and you use big words, too!)Do your personal beliefs align closely with any particular faith (notice I did not ask what religion you are)? If so, which one? If not…okay. Just want to get an honest accounting for what you believe in.

As if offending the “faithful” of all religions and political persuasions weren’t enough, Mr. Miller? Now you have the audacity to attack vegans, vegetarians, and those with lactose, sucrose, dextrose and gluten intolerances? keep up the good work!

I flag noone. I resist the temptation daily to flag the tirades, rants, and repetitious cant of closed-minded, opinionated individuals. Sometimes there is a grain of truth in there somewhere, if you dig deep enough. It happens.

Tofu is made from soya. Saya is a well known gender-bending agent. Google it. The witch is wicked.

Thanks for this health-conscious ending to the reading.Love your posts.@WileyThanks for this latest enlightenment on the origins of tofu in our society-it’s been around longer than we thought. We just got the version of the story with the facts about the construction of the house deleted when we were young .Thanks for this disclosure. No wonder we’re so susceptible to conspiracy theories.BTW, what the HELL have you got against tofu?Seem to remember a strip (believe by you) of the devil informing a resident of his digs looking forward to lunch that today’s special, and for all eternity would be tofu.Actually, kinda share your sentiments about tofu-kinda tastes like wet, shredded newspaper to me, but after seeing this strip, Michelle Obama is gonna give you HELL for this further dissing of tofu.

@Wiley
Kinda knew this reading of the story would have great appeal to Danae! Also, love the expression on the kids’ faces after reality set in!

…..rational dialogue? Not out of the mouths of reeps will you see it. Admire your restraint in not flagging the rants and tirades of those of us posting in this comments section!

Tofu is fine, it just needs extra seasoning. I’m not sure about “Quorn”..Religion is needed only if you haven’t got a grip on life. We invent gods as and when we think we need them. There are as many religions as there are people, each having their own take on things.

Never heard this one before. After giving it some thought, am determined to use it next time someone needs a comeuppance. A rather innocuous insult and one perfect for befuddling the opposition!By the way, must divulge some maritime wisdom-“Our captain says:If you can’t dazzle ’em with brilliance, baffle ’em with B.S.!”.Thanks for your great input-my detractors had better watch their mouths!

Many thanks for your tip about Frog Applause in yesterday’s comments. Read through yesterday’s comments there and almost bust a gut!…..Aqua Velva, skirts, and eggs the topic of discussion!Yesterday’s strip matched Wiley’s theme-“We run things-things don’t run we.”Have never seen the strip before, but Ick and Mick have a new disciple. Terrific, and today’s strip provides much food for thought!.

@Varnes@rogue53@VonneAntonFell asleep before reading you final posts last night, but definitely had my eyes opened this morning in making up for lost time and reading them. Thanks to all.

…..“fools may say there is no God, but they probably pray that they’re correct”. Wow-great stuff, and would like to follow Vonne Anton’s lead in plaigiarising that statement.…….“the Pharaohs didn’t lift a finger to build the pyramids…..” Amen. Also believe that they were not built by slave labor. The Great Pyramid at Giza (believe that it’s about 40 stories high-will have to check this) is a fascinating enigma.Knowledgeable engineers and others have said that the construction could not be duplicated with today’s construction equipment and technology. Some believe that the Egyptians possessed a technology enabling the stones (believe some of them were200 tons-need to check this, too) to be levitated into place or that they were levitated by ET’s (this will also be considered off the wall by many).Edgar Cayce, one of the most amazing men who ever lived, dated the actual construction of the Sphinx and pyramids at !0,000 B.C.

…..something bigger than humans started all this"….. Am also in complete agreement with this.……"don’t need a congregation…..For sure, whoever stated all this doesn’t need a house built by humans (or anyone else, for that matter, to reside in. We have it on good authority that " the kingdom of God is within". High damn time we start trying to live by what we’ve been taught.

Rockngolfer…on your question pertaining to religion, perhaps you should consult history and ask such peaceful and loving atheists as Josef Stalin, Mao Zedong and Pol Pot.

Tofu CAN’T be a food. I’ve never seen any Tofu herds.
ATyger about 12 years ago
It is pretty funny. Sorry, but it is.
Tofu is not the panacea it’s made out to be. Soy is a known allergen, and does do some hormone damage when given to babies in formula. It’s full of estrogen, and when consumed enough will overwhelm a person with it. Means that progesterone (women) and testosterone (men) are overtaken, causing health problems, see “man boobs” for more information. It will also fry your thyroid if you consume enough of it.
Animals will not eat soy/tofu if given a choice. They’re not stupid.
I am allergic to soy, and avoid it much as I can. However, forms of soy are added to foods, so I read labels a lot and try to eat real food, not processed.
What a perfect comic strip!
vwdualnomand about 12 years ago
tofu is suppose to be good for you. made from soybeans, a superfood. and, maybe it will stop the childhood obesity and diabetes and rotting teeth.

I love Dad’s wry retelling of the Grimm tale, and love even more Danae’s critique. After all, what kid likes vegetables or tofu ? As for the rest of today’s comments, are you all so starved for controversial colloquy that you have to interject a political or religious interpretation into everything ? It’s Sunday, give it a rest !

Thanks for your post here-believe it is fairly well understood. However, will be spending the rest of the day ruminating about your post at Frog Applause. You don’t make life easy!

Love this strip. Being allergic to soy it really made me giggle. Besides I find it to be the nastiest tasting stuff on earth. And for those touting it as being a “super food” and the answer to everybodies health issues bear in mind that it is in the top ten list of allergens.

Yes; like eggplant, it is merely a vehicle for the flavors and relies on a culinary prowess for it’s success or failure.

Ein Haus, das von Candy ist Dandy, aber ein Haus gebaut aus Tofu ist schrecklich ! ( I apologize for my tasteless German. )

Once in a while, I like to add some tofu to a stir fried chicken with peanut sauce. It can actually add some flavor to an otherwise bland (tofu) food source. On the other hand, chocolate is one of the 5 basic food groups and there is no substitute for it. The higher the percentage of cacao, the better it is for you. Rich in anti-oxidents and paired with a glass of red wine. it has been proven to be very beneficial to your overall health.

Thank you very much for clarifying some of your beliefs. I’m still not sure what “version” of Christian you are; perhaps another day that will become clear and I will be most fascinated to learn.Several times you addressed how I might respond to your beliefs, none of which are true. And I understood every big word you used.Thank you again. Most enlightening. :-)

its just a comic.. this isn’t one of the political cartoons. Why do people do that? The resason the story is changed is probably because the original one is scary for kids. I don’t see any politics here.
