The spelling Arcenaux is mostly found in Louisiana. The branches of the family is Canada are mostly Arsenault. I went to high school with one. The -ault makes it similar to names like Thibault, also found in Lousiana and Texas. There are various explanations for where the name comes from. Some people thin kit means “keeper of the arsenal” or “gun dealer,” although that’s not likely the reason for the character being named like “Cinnabon.”
He’s tired of this city, seeming to indicate that he came from somewhere else and is thinking of leaving again. I guess we get to meet the nephew next.
That P. 2. shot is just fantastic ! Shell hit that one out of the park and I think the coloring looks good too. These guys are so casual you wonder if they are the real bad guys even tho’ I suspect they are.
Iron, Cobalt and Nickel…Steelface’s high school heavy metal rock band from the 90s… Later on, they called themselves The Oxidizers. The other 2 left the band when Steelface began attracting the wrong kind of attention.
Well, I do understand Steelface’s name problem. Not all non-cherokee can pronounce my tribal name easily “Atsilawesa” comes out somewhat like – At-sa-la. and Wee-sa. Translated ‘Fire cat’ I’m culturally Cherokee as my grandmother was a traditional Cherokee and adopted me into her Clan. With my fiery red hair, and rather… challenging temperament when I was young, the name was appropriate :)
1-GASPAR: Thanks a lot for kockblocking me with that chick, Steelface! Looks like it’s just me and Rosy again tonight. I think I’ll go lefty – this one here.
2-STEEL: Quitcher bichin. I saved you from untold future misery.
“Yeeeeeee-HAWWWWWWW, all you Hip, Happening, Cool Cats and Super-Swell Swingers out there Loyally Listening out there in Terrific Tracy Town! This is your Dashing, Dynamic Deejay, JPuzzle The Whiz, here, and we at the Big, Bold BMBG hear tell that there’s a new dude in town who’s known as Steelface, but scuttlebutt has it that he prefers the name Arcenaux! Right now, I’d like to welcome him on behalf of the staff who don’t stand for no ‘gaff’ at BMBG with this classic!”
Dick Tracy… the preeminent dick of Tracyville… amazing that Dick can keep it up this long… Dick has had ups and downs over the years, but for him to go at it non-stop as he has, that’s just plain impressive… it just shows that the dick is in good hands… Dick needs a good shake-up every so often to keep it fresh and exciting, so I’ll take the time to thank Dick and the various Team Tracys thruout the years for all their contributions to America;s greatest detective… well done, one and all…
The plot thickens, as they say, though in ways we cannot fully comprehend as yet. Arcenaux “Steelface” has a nephew, we learn, who is apparently, as Gaspar implies, something of a mooch, seeking (yet another?) favor. What this all means, or will mean, is yet to be revealed. Arcenaux is not impressed by Tracyville (“too nosy,” which might translate to too Midwestern friendly), which suggests he is not a native. Is he in fact from France, or some other European country? What is his business in Tracyville, whether legit or crooked? Could he be in Show Business, recruited by Vitamin Flintheart for his production?

If he has a nephew, that means he must have a brother or sister. Wonder if they have faces of steel as well.

Aren’t “big cities” known to be inpersonable? That no one really interacts with their neighbors, or, few others.

Doc Will Magnus ought to recruit Steely into his team of Metal Men, should he be proven innocent of any crime, after this arc concludes…

Hmm…what kind of day job does this facial shadow have? He might be a blue-collar worker. Got enough height on him to work on a construction site.
