If he was the attorney, that would explain why he had legal papers in his garage. I’m guessing that they made arrangements with him to put Annie up for adoption if anything should happen to them … or something like that.
“I’m the obligatory Hooded Cla- type lawyer who cheated them and is now out to steal your inheritance — the parti-colored diamond mine in Upper Middle Slobovia. Ready for some PERILS, little lady? We’ll start with a visit to my sawmill in Muncie.”
1-L.O. ANNA PALINDROME: Hand over the pictures of my parents, bub!
2- …HEY! LEGGO YA PERV! I WAS REACHING FOR THE PICTURES!
3-BOB SMITH: Sorry. I was reintroducing myself to include the fact that I’m a lawyer in the homespun tradition of Clarence Darrow.BUT, before that, I was a P.I. specializing in divorce cases. I was practicing taking In Flagrante Delicto photos when I caught your parents “doing it.” Wanna see?
L.O. ANNA: Nah, I’m good. BOB: So are the photos!!! HUBBA HUBBA! DT: ME! ME! I WANNA SEE ’EM!!!
Did Charles draw Annie’s dress with a high slit up her left leg in Panel 1 – I see skin. Kind of inappropriate for her age I think but teen girls all wanna be Taylor Swift these days so…

“Unfortunately, I’m not a very good attorney. They were executed. Unusual for parking offenses, but as I said . . . "

Good morning™, Leapin’ Lizards !!!
I would like to say that Annie’s eyes are open wide with amazement but it’s hard to tell when she always has that face.
I had read that hands are hard to draw but it looks like Chucky’s got this one in-the-bag. :-)

Wonders never cease. At least Annie has finally been allowed to sit down properly on a sofa. No more Annie kneeling please.

He may be okay. I’m a little concerned that Smith spelled backwards is Htims. But Bob spelled backwards is Bob, so I think he can be trusted,

Odd. He looks neither 300 pounds nor Samoan.

Among my many annoying traits I include noticing the lettering.
Why on earth is “Annie” in boldface in that last balloon? Try saying that out loud, emphasizing the name “Annie”. It sounds really odd.
