My first cat LOVED the vet; hated the procedures and hid when we got home…Until dinnertime. :)

Every time. Every time, I fall for that old ruse… some day I’ll show her man’s best friend… I ain’t named Puddles for nothing…

Yeah, it’s true that our pets hate the procedures (but so do kids and most adults!)

The reality is, Luann is doing Puddles a great favor by taking him to the vet. Way too many pet ‘parents’ don’t or can’t (because of cost; have you ever priced pet insurance?!), and then some pets end up with possibly preventable conditions.

Sometimes, even with care, your relationship with a great dog or cat ends because of cancer or some other situation that they couldn’t tell you about. My sister has finally decided to stop getting dogs for her kids, because two of them died of cancer and the kids were so upset.

Luann is doing a good thing…

Listen up children, getting in a car and going for a ride is often how these things start

I didn’t know high school biology teachers did pet exams in their classrooms! Just kidding. My vets wear scrubs or those white jackety things…

I hope the story arc of the warehouse continues on Monday. We need to see whether Frank gets talked out of this craziness or what…

Puddles fell for it again. But this time maybe he’ll remember and find some way to inflict some humiliation on Luann in return….

Is that Vet doing what I think he’s doing? Oh my and on a Sunday Family comic strip! [snicker]

Our Sheltie ALWAYS knew when he was headed for the vet. No matter what trick we used to try to and fool him, it never worked, he always knew where we were really taking him…and always made himself scarce

I have a cat, lives outside. I have to grab him into a carrier for the vet. He behaves himself well and doesn’t scratch or bite. But when I get him home, he won’t come near me for days, only walks by and gives me the stinkeye.

Everybody in the strip has aged and changed over the years except Puddles. He should be really old by now.

At least Luann taking the dog for a ride is different from the mob taking someone for a ride.

And to think he was looking forward to this not knowing where it would lead

Dude should probably be wearing gloves, too. How many cats and dogs does he touch there on an average day. Just sayin’.

The dog will eagerly get in the car next time she says “Letsgo for a Ride” They never learn.

The vet could be giving Puddles a shot. I’ve never seen a vettake a temperature that way.

Mine knows something is up when I get the carriers out.

I love the far side I saw: One dog sitting by the driveway and the other in a car. One in the car says: After we go to the cleaners, I’m going to the vet to get tutored! Surprise!!!!!

I don’t think I have ever seen a vet wear a tie to work.

When we take our Siamese, she behaves quite nicely for the vet, but the look she gives us though the whole trip says: I It may take years, but I WILL kill you. Slowly, painfully, in a thousand hideous ways…"

Then when we get home she curls up in my lap and purrs (and of course 5 minutes later I have to go to the bathroom!)

Yeah, I remember my dog’s reaction when she had to have her glands checked. She was like “Wait… Where is that finger going… WHERE HAS THAT FINGER GONE?!”

My baby came to dislike car trips after a series of shots due to some infection or other when he was just a few months old.

Poor Puddles: The humans in this strip began looking like real people years ago, but he’s condemned to life as a toon. Where’s the justice?

Lol, when has a tick ever been known to be “cheap”? I’ve heard tell that Golddiggers parasites can be quite expensive…

You might want to check out today’s “Brewster Rockit” (in light of “pressing matters”)….

“Go for a ride” doesn’t work with our dog, she’s the first one we’ve had that doesn’t like the car.

Not all cartoon characters should experience the cruelty of aging. Long live Puddles and Snoopy!!! But Beetle Bailey is a bit of a stretch———in the army over 60 years, same Korean War uniforms, never left CampSwampy, never got a stripe, or saw any kind of deployment.

Like Satchel of ‘Get Fuzzy said, "For every trip to the vet, there’s a car ride!"
