Someone under treatment for a disease makes arrangements for those who are dependent on him or her during treatmendt (been there). And usually doesn’t have a full head of hair, either…

Truly, if Pru is a proactive pro, then Pru is pretty much a practically prudent pro. -On the other hand, just because Jonah seems jocular, it doesn’t justify Jonah’s jacked up gesture. In fact, generationally, Shannon may adjust, but he’s not only missing the gist, but Jonah’s jive just doesn’t jibe.

Toni has a full time job. That’s not an arrangement. A kid that young can’t stay home alone all day.

SIGH Shoulda known. The idea that Jonah was here for Shannon was too good to be true. The worst part is that Shannon (like most children are wont to do) thinks her father is just wonderful. So Nancy and Pru can’t say what they are undoubtedly thinking.

She loves her dad, while Pru questions the duo idea that Shannon is so excited about. What a metaphor for Jonah and his responsibility toward his child. He does seem to be busy in acting, as a thespian, but is he also selfish and shallow, or just busy and a little diffident in being a father and parent? Brad has become such a man as a parent figure to Shannon, although of course having a fiance like Toni Daytona can help a man, man up! Jonah may not have that going for him. He is not as clearly bad as Leslie, or as mysterious as Piro, but being a parent is so important. Why is he that way.? Shannon loves her dad, children often do, but when will it become apparent to her that her dad is not the most loving father figure in her life? That might be one of the issues that face Toni and Brad as we approach the wedding date. That may be another reason he really does not like Brad. I smell the faint but unmistakable whiff of tension, jealousy and anger here between Brad and Jonah, with Toni in the middle, and Shannon being OH GOD the victim. Please lets work this out.

Shannon’s Mom may have been an even bigger flake than Jonah. I have a friend whose Mom disappeared not long after the kid was born and she never found out what happened (the relatives wouldn’t discuss it). What I wonder is how Jonah eats, pays rent, etc. I don’t see him getting any gigs that pay much.

No “duo” here, Pru! Irresponsible Jonah has baled yet again, dumping poor Shannon on Nancy and you this time. And I’m not so sure he has even the modest gigs he professes (as I also suggested yesterday). Who knows what he really does when he leaves? Maybe he’s mixed up in something very bad….

So is this a rehearsal rather than the actual show? Maybe we can see Luann and Bernice’s “act” now. Anyway, this answers a question that someone asked yesterday, namely why Jonah (if he is busy auditioning for paying jobs) would take part in this amateur show. It seems to have been Shannon’s desire rather than his.

Apparently now Teams Evans will really ramp up the “lousy father” storyline for the next 6 months so that Brad and Toni can adopt Shannon as soon as they’re married, as the Truefans have been demanding for years now. Then Jonah will vanish to the land of Aaron Hill and mini-Elvis.

Oh Jonah is an ‘Actor’ alright. He’s ‘Acting’ like He’s a responsible parent, right Now.

Interesting way to bring Quill back into the story. He shows up for his last paycheck, gets roped into playing for Shannon, they win and beat Luann. Luann congratulates him and they start talking again.

7As anticipated, Jonah has a “bail” plan enacted. Typical for what we know of his behavior in the past. But… the interaction as portrayed today between Jonah and Shannon still seems “ok”…. what I mean is that Shannon seems happy, and Jonah (at least at this point) is being nice verbally to Shannon. Obviously, the suggestion is that he will “flake-out” of the whole DUO routine, and someone else will have to step in. That is how this reads…. but who knows, Greg may have another avenue he will take us to. There is still a possibility (perhaps remote) that Greg WILL have Jonah come back AND do the actual performance with Shannon. That would be nice. Having him “flake-out” on all the work at practicing with Shannon, and leaving her at The Fuse in a last-minute hustle to leave, and announcing Toni will get Shannon later (whether this has really been arranged is doubtful, but we really do not know yet)…. all of these are in keeping with Jonah’s past behavior…. but Greg could still pull of the arc in an unexpected way where Jonah still (probably at the last minute) comes and does the actual performance with her.I could see a situation where Brad and/or Toni presume Jonah is GONE from the performance, so they step in and do a lot of practice with Shannon…. only to have Jonah step back in at the last second. This could then develop into a further development of the Jonah/Brad tension that has been lurking behind the scenes.

Well, now we know WHY Jonah showed up there. He decided to just dump Shannon w Brad’s family, even though he had not yet met them, till Toni can get there. Like others here have said i feel sorry for Shannon having grown this far so used to this. People w huge senses of entitlement are … Well, i will not say it. I wonder if, when he enters groups of people, he also just assumes they should like and/or accept him no matter how he treats them? I am asking because in my many decades i have known two people with borderline personality disorder and they truly considered themselves to be a part of groups where they repeatedly took advantage of others and treated others badly. They felt that somehow they were automatically entitled to acceptance and even reward despite their poor treatment of pretty much everyone. We know nothing of that part of Jonah’s life, though.

It is amazing that Pru just left her entire life back in New York. And for what? Quill is out of the picture, and she has good friends back in NY. Did she even make a trip back to get the rest of her stuff?

Shannon knows Nancy, she has stayed with Luann many times before. Jonah is a single parent and Shannon seems pretty healthy and happy. I think Jonah is doing better than a lot of real life single parents. He has a network of people who will help him out with his daughter, like Toni and Brad, and Luann and her family.

Auditioning for “Cats”? Part of me wonders if Jonah will bump into Quill on some of these acting gigs.

I bet Shannon will turn out to be a really talented dancer to everyone’s surprise!

Am I the only person that sees the parallel between Jonah and Quill? If he and Luann had continued to try their relationship, this is what she would have looked forward to. Always work, always some kind of audition or call back and never time for them. I would love to hope that Quill and Jonah meet up and Quill sees his future self in Jonah. Might cause some thinking.

I’m sure it’s planned that this company of “Cats” will go on a permanent road tour (to the Bermuda Triangle, Brigadoon, and the black hole Cygnus X-1) sometime around December 10. All problems will then be resolved. Instant family, without pregnancy and childbirth! Happy, happy days in the Luanverse!!!

Locake and seismic, NYC, like SF and a few other cities, has rents so high that people often share apartments, having a small room or part of one, and therefore CAN fit everything they own into a car – which is how Pru traveled to Pitts.She might have felt thst her options for work were too constrained there, too, whereas here she is the chief theater manager and has been able to write, produce and direct her own work. She might have wanted more opportunities on that score for a while. It is not unusual for people to discover that they need a different venue at some point in development.

Toni cares for her brother’s child. I don’t see her as a brat, she changed a lot since Brad and Toni became a couple.

He’s only doing what men have been doing for eons: foisting their spawn onto women so they can use THEIR free time doing fun stuff while the women spend all of theirs raising the dude’s children…

The one who really suffers is little Shannon. I do hope for her sake that either Jonah will either wise up (doubtful now) or he will consent to let Toni and Brad have custody of her.
