I am for once with Les on an issue.

Oh, Leslie is sure going to enjoy taking care of cats.

If the kittens gonna be part of the family, GnK need to draw them with more character like Moe. I love Moe.

Time for Les to find a new place to live OR it would be an excellent time to develop an allergy to cats.

See!! The kitty Les is holding is already getting ’attached ’to him.

I’m surprised – no one has made a comment about the cats being a good judge of character.

So… they adopt a bunch of cats and they need help… taking care of them? A bit irresponsible to me.

I knew going in that Les would not be a cat person.

So it’s true, animals CAN sense evil. hahaha. I’m kidding, Les is good when he wants to be.

I was right it’s Irma.

Maybe Les should name the gray kitten Claude.

Guys like Les like to have a choice. The cat or a wild rhinoceros. Your choice, Les…

Les has feline who like to attach themselves to him, while Gun(ther’s) little kitty seems mild. Could the ones clawing Les be kind of match for him. Will this turn into a labor or love? Or???

First lesson for Les: Learn how to trim cat claws!

It sounds like the kittens are being fostered, while they’ve adopted Moe. (I could be wrong of course). Perhaps the person who will be most upset when the kittens move on will be Les?

Please no sappy arc where Les is transformed by a little kitty.

Oh, heck no! If you want a pet, you take care of it. None of this making a schedule baloney.

One cat, acceptable. Two cats, house smells like cat pee. More than that? Crazy old cat lady.

Irma ’s version of “us” is interesting.

I’m still wondering why there are only 4 cats. Weren’t there 5 in the box? Someone mentioned about an orange one being missed?

Irma, you do know the boys are adults and have lives, right? How about asking for their help instead of shoving a list of cat chores in there faces. What’s next? “Hi, boys! Al and I have bought a new house and car! Here’s a list of chores for you!”

Ah, you see? I told you the lads were gonna get “volunteered” to look after a kitten.

And LOOK! A little kitty has taken a “liking” to Les, poor kitty. And turned the lad into a scratching post! Enjoy your 6 AM feeding, “Daddy!”

Frankly I dunno WHY Leslie is so “upset.” Like Schrodinger’s Dog pointed out the other day, Les has just been handed what he’s been DEMANDING for some time now! ;)

Now I gonna have My first cup of COFFE and enjoy the weekend. And observe how “folks” will continue to IGNORE Les’ SULLEN and Angry Mood. ;)

PS: If “Leslie” were “smart” he’d use his kitten to his advantage. I’m fairly certain some young woman would note Les revealing his “tender side,” while taking care of a kitten. And take an interest him. “Les” that is. Maybe if Leslie asks real nice, Gunther would upload a pic of him cuddling that cat to “Date Pic.” Or Instagram. Just (SNORT) sayin’……, ;)

What happened to the orange kitten? There were five kittens originally—now only four—and I don’t think there was enough time for someone else to get the orange kitten. I guess the Evans’ thought Moe was orange enough for everyone—but I do wonder about the kitten.

As was stated before don’t get a pet and expect someone else to help without asking first.

Okay – Irma and Al decide to take on the responsibility of caring for cats… yet, they’re gonna force Gunth and Les to help? Not cool at all…

Why get so many needy cats if you have to rely on others to help out? I love cats but I know with my work schedule having one so dependent would not be good.

It’s odd for a shelter to foster out kittens requiring regular food and medicine. What’s wrong with them?

I’ve never heard of a required 6am feeding for a kitten, unless they were two young to be away from their mom. But if that was the case, why would they foster them out instead of waiting a few weeks? If you’re still bottle feeding those kittens, they shouldn’t be out of the shelter at all.

I have faith in Les. He’ll turn feeding the kittens into a chick magnet.

Maybe Al and Irma see it as a bonding experience for Les and Gunther. Maybe somebody said this already, I didn’t read all the replies, my dogs are waiting to go out and are clearly indicating I have taken long enough.

Les will quickly develop an ear worm of Ted Nugent and Cat Scratch Fever!

I agree with Mordoc on this one. They should not be FORCED to help. But I hope they will anyway.

I don’t think they’ll get used to that.

If you take the responsibility of a pet, it’s yours. As others have pointed out, any kitten requiring feeding this way is too young to be adopted. I understand it’s a comic; however, I am with Les on this. You want a pet that requires around the clock care? Your provide around the clock care.

6 am feedings? They’ll let them sleep in?

I know Mr. Grey and Irma are providing them a home, but it does seem a little pushy to insist they help with pets the boys didn’t even get a say in choosing.

Not cool. You should never obligate others to care for animals without talking to them first. They may live in the house out back, but they are also building their own lives and schedules. Should have checked first. Not cool for the kittens, either.

I think they should of asked the guys. They are older and have a life. They should have respected that and asked. They are no longer in high school.

White cat for Gunther, Grey cat for Les. It might have been the black cat except you would never see it against Les’ black clothes. Or are GnK trying to tell us Les isn’t all bad?

For those concerned about the orange kitten: He’s fine. He was adopted by Jon just to spite Garfield.

This has already been said multiple times, but I must join in: “We’d like you to help?” Excuse me? Your choice – Your cats – Your problem. (How RUDE can you get?) Mr. and Mrs. Boring also did this to Gunther when they built their little house and booted him out of his childhood and into the cage with Les without asking either one of them for their input. Time for Gunth to tell his mom to have a nice life and get the h*** out of there. Peru’s looking a little better.

Is anyone else thinking Irma overstepped, saying ’we’d LIKE your help’, then handing them a schedule of when they WILL help?

My opinion of Irma sinks considerably today, considering that her first thought at having adopted too many cats, is to give (some of) them to Gunther and Les – neither of whom has expressed any interest – nor should have any interest – in adopting pets at this time.

As someone else said yesterday, their first priority ought to be, figuring out how to get out of their Den of Despair!

Well, Gunther’s white kitty seems to like him!! Les’ gray kitty … That’s another thing! :)

And I doubt, S-Dog will like this upcoming arc, given his apparent stance on cats!! :)

This is truly not fair to Les and Gunther. It was Al and Irma who wanted to adopt a cat, not the boys. To bring home 4 kittens and a full grown cat and expect the guys to help take care of them is not right.

There is no entitlement program for our ranch cats. They all started off as strays that were probably dumped in the nearby woods but some idiot. Then they found their way to to our barn or the chicken house where they earned valuable catpoints for catching mice. When they’ve saved up enough of those points, they get to come into the house, eat premium cat food and sleep all day upstairs on the bed. And, yes, they get free medical and birth control because they’ve earned it.

This is sooooo not right. Sure, taking on Moe and the kittens were Irma’s “pet” project. But assigning feeding and meds schedules to Gunther and Les without their consent is just wrong. The time to have that conversation was back at the SPCA, like Irma should have called them and they all should’ve talked it over about who’s accepting responsibility for what before she arrives home and before she starts drawing up schedules.

Both Gunther and Les are now adults. Gunter could very well have weekend plans with Bets… like taking a bus to go to LA for a weekend convention or something. So Irma’s gonna turn on the waterworks, and then Gunther would resentfully cancel his plans? Rolls eyes. And Les… you can see him angry and seething. Does Irma REALLY want to entrust her new precious and vulnerable darlings to Les, who might very well hurt them, or at the least, ignore their needs?

So not cool. You shouldn’t dump animals on people that aren’t asking to help out. It’s not good for the animals nor for the people. Just flat out wrong

Well, my respect for Irma just took a serious nosedive. You don’t take on a new responsibility just to pass the buck onto someone else, especially without getting their blessing in advance. Unfortunately since nobody in this strip ever seems to stand up for themselves, we won’t get to see Les tell her to go pound sand.

The kitten in Gunther’s arms is purring likely because he is rubbing him (her) on the forehead. Hopefully Gunther will take care of both; I wouldn’t trust Les to care for an animal.

Funny how Les is the only one getting Clawed …

Les is going to sleep and he will get used to the sound of purring. Which is what I miss, after my J.J. died. :( Miss my Baby J. !

These cats are the property of Irma and Al. Let Irma and Al take care of them.

If they do not, report them for animal abuse, but do not be bullied into doing their job for them!

Feed them every few hours and they’re going to expect that for the rest of their lives.
