It’s a surprise to see Dez here, visiting the DeGroots. But I would think that after sharing a room with Dez for two years that Bernice would have recognized ambience stones without asking.

Welp typical Dez. Now it’s time for some chakra stuff, and telling Bernice what color her aura is. Maybe have some chickpea smoothies, too.

Well Okay. Looks like THIS may prove to be an educational week. And it seems as though We’re learning stuff already.

1) Dez IS back, and is delightfully strange as ever.

2) Contrary to (un)popular opinion, College appears to be back in session within the VAST Luanniverse.

3) Dez knew where Bernice now lives. Which means they’ve been keeping in touch.

Now, all we need to know is:

A) Will Tiffany return to Mooney and will she still be staying in her shared room with “Stepford Stef?” And if so, “Why?”

B) Now that Bern is no longer R.A., will she be corrupted by the Hall A Gang?

C) Will We be meeting any “new” students?

D) Will Dez encourage Bernice to go after Jack? (I’ll lay odds, “Yes.”)

Bernice will pull out the ambiance crystal and find it is dressed in a Goth style and is a receiver for messages from Crystal (the character) in a desperate attempt to get Crystal back into the comic strip.

And because Bernice and Dez are such opposites, yet friends, it may turn out that Dez will have more influence on Bernice than Luann ever will.

Bernice is not bored, Bernice got Monstro.

Dez’s wild and wonderful, creative and colorful lifestyle adds a splash of spice to Bernice’s staid life. With a holistic zest for life and enlightenment, Dez lives on a spiritual plane of mystic thinking and weird teas.

Dorm ambience crystals? OK. But Bernice actually needs in confidence crystals, to make a move on Jack.

It’s only the new arc’s opening. Dez is using a physical object to lead into something sage, spiritual and sensible, which Bernice hasn’t shown she has matured into any of that. Bern is studying counseling, but that’s by the book. Dez goes by intuition and experience and personality. Dez will “out-counsel” the counselor.

What a relief! I was afraid that with Bernice out of the dorm, Dez would disappear. I’m happy she’s still in Bernice’s life as a friend (and not just as a roommate)♡. She needs Dez’s positivity, calm and wisdom in her life.

Where Knute?

It’s good to see Dez still here. Starting in August 2014, there began a long buildup as to who Bernice’s roommate would be. Desdemona didn’t appear until February 25, 2015. A six and a half month buildup for a character intro! She’s been featured, on and off, for FIVE years.

I wonder if this is a farewell appearance?

Man, I like Dez. She’s open and accepting of everyone, and by now Berenice should realize how terrific that trait is.

Yep, no two ways about it. They are rocks.

Obviously we are entering a new era re Secondary Ed arcs. Tiff is on campus (maybe)! Lou and Bern live off their respective campuses. What kind of logistics problems are we in for, each going to a different school? I believe Luann and Bern each have their own car.

Where does Dez fit in? Only as in the camping type arcs? Will Sun and Mook ever be seen again?

It looks like Monstro has lived to see another day!

Oh, good. We get to see Dez. The others at the dorm can stay there.

I am happy to see Dez visiting Bern (alone); it shows they have been corresponding. Bern can still visit Dez (at her dorm) and staying friends will allow her to remain in the loop with the Mooney scene. Dez is a great character. It is interesting that she asks how it is living with Luann, and Bern’s response is that she is grateful to the Degroots.

Those rocks will be at the bottom of the fish tank really soon.

Bernice: “I do miss life at the dorm.”

Translation: I miss being an RA, and being able to boss people around, and insist they follow every single rule to the letter, and report them for infractions when they don’t. Of course, if I want to bend or break any rules, that’s fine….." :D :P :P

Dez has actually found some rare purple Kryptonite, and she’s curious as to the effect they’ll have on Bernice.

@Mordock999—-So you want a love triangle with Crystal in the picture huh? Sounds like fun, but G&K would have to bring Crystal back first.

I was thinking more along the lines of a rivalry between Bernice and Tiffany. Tiff never hesitated to come on to Jack whenever Luann was around, maybe she still has some interest in him. Since Tiff is the glamor girl she’d figure that she’d win out, no problem, while Bern would be insisting Jack prefers the intellectual type, like her.

It would really be funny if each decided the other might be right, and Bernice starts getting into clothes and make up trying to out-sexy Tiff, while Tiff was busy trying to impress Jack with her intellectual prowess. :D :D :P ;D

Hang in there Monstro! Maybe tomorrow we’ll see more of Luann’s reaction to Jacks gift for Bernice. Who knows? Maybe he called her when he saw the fish tank and told her what he wanted to do and she thought it was a great idea!

Dez was trying to show Bernice, that she was still her friend, whether she lived at the dorm, or not. Both she and Jack presented her with gifts, WITHOUT being asked. Can’t we appreciate the kindness that has been shown to Ms. Halper?

You know Bernice is really rude. When someone does something nice for you say thank you.

To a fervent New Ager like Dez, the ambiance crystals might seem to work. To a universally skeptical Cynic like Bernie they are indeed just rocks. It’s a matter of POV and an article of Faith….
