It took me a long time to realize that you weren’t supposed to collect any money when you landed on Free Parking in Monopoly, because that’s the way everyone played the game when I was growing up.

Does anyone even believe they would be playing a board game together? They would both be texting and doing stuff on their phones.

    A totally unrealistic strip.

    Why?

    1. In panel #1, Puddles is in the room. There is a plate with crumbs sitting on the floor.

    2. In the last panel, the crumbs are still on the plate.

Nevermind what Luann and Bernice are doing. Reality has left the building ages ago, without anyone ever hearing a “Thank you very much.”

Reminds me of when my wife and were dating. One time, we played a game of checkers, and I won the game without one single checker taken off the board. Hint: you make it to where your opponent cannot make a further move…

I am worried about Greg. In the last panel, Nancy appears to be carrying him in a box. Don’t people usually write on the box what the contents are?

    .

I do wonder who the other two in the box are? I mean, were…

The problem with the world is that there are too many people like Bernice. Maniacs of the rules, unable to bend, able to ruin others people lives because of a little thing out of order and always sure to be right. I can’t stand them anymore! Trouble is, I’m one of them most of the times….

This might be a aly metaphor on our current political situation where since neither side can agree on what the rules are no one wins in the end. I have a sense of foreboding here as I did with the current Tiffany arc, but I think I’m taking it too seriously. Time will tell

So; rules makes us human, Bernice? Then why is it you’re so tempted to throw out the rules you and Nils set up, every time you’re with him, alone?

    A. Interesting rule twist: I played a game of Los Vegas Chess. The set includes dice with a chess piece on each surface. You roll the dice and you have to move one of the pieces that comes up on the dice. If you don’t have any of those pieces left, you roll again. This would put me and the world champion on a more level playing field. LOL.

It’s always comforting to see Greg keeping Luann consistent. Consistently immature that is. I mean honestly, in the last weeks they have had her demonstrate that she doesn’t respect other peoples’ property and has zero sense of responsibility. Now she can’t even play a board game without cheating to win and then trying to qualify the cheating? They have made her into a Shannon. So if you that still think she should pursue a degree in child development and be in a position to influence small children, keep in mind that she is totally clueless on how a grown person is suppose to act and has no social values. I wouldn’t want my child anywhere near that kind of an influence. It’s too bad they keep insisting on showing her to be impaired without qualifying exactly what her limitations are, but the drawings are always good. (Let’s see what kind of non-words she can come up with at Scrabble).

While Bernice is correct, she’s also a moron for jumping to the either/ or fallacy. Either we follow every rule or we abolish all rules? I suppose Bernice isn’t interested in critical thinking. Anyway, play Mansions of Madness.

I found on Ebay a childhood fav..“The Game of the States” which was supposed to teach kids about commerce. I loved it. Monopoly, Clue, The Game of Life…Remember “Lie Detector”? with villians and a little pseudo lie detector thing you’d stick their card into and it would say if they were lying about some crime? So many cool games from back in the day.

Ahhh the yin and the yang of this strip… Bern and Luann. We have to have rules to live by or else life would descend into chaos; at the same time freedom from rigid structures and to create is equally important. Anyone who thinks these two are going split up is likely mistaken unless we are at the end of this comic.
