Time to bring Bernice in. You saw what she did with your mom’s bookkeeping mess, Luann. Note to Bernice: Make this a teaching lesson in organizating rather than just cleaning up her mess.

Either this is a teaser leading up to Luann’s big Uni switch OR the GnK team is taking a week off OR they can’t think up a decent Luann arc to run with. What do y’all think?

Hoarder?

Luann your room at your home was a mess why would expect anything different for college.

Weird past couple of days. I went to community college in the summers to get some courses out of the way (because yay, living with my folks and getting credits at an easier school: I’ve never been very academic), and I didn’t need anything but one backpack. Luann seems to have a cute little toybox and a log, among other things.

Such a nice break from picturing Dez nude and Steph getting it on. That scene was getting older than the banana under Luann’s back seat.

Why does she have a log in the trunk?

Luann, when you read guys like a girl with a little junk in the trunk, this isn’t what it meant…

If only there was a convenient way to store and carry frequently-used school materials. Like some kind of pack that you could wear on your back. I’m not sure what you would call such an object, though.

Then and now, and nothing has changed. Luann needs to learn some organizational skills.

And everything seen in the high school locker is now in her car today. Luann throws away NOTHING.

Looks like ( in the trunk) a pet carrier, a log, a tail, a tank. a notebook, a box, a book or a binder….

Is Luann moving her stuff to a senior college dorm? I can’t believe that will happen. Like her bedroom, her car is probably just as messy.

Luann should change her name to “Pack Rat”.

Everything changes but nothing really changes. I love Luann’s sad expression ♡. But in both cases it’s her lack of knowing how to organize her storage space that brings her into such situations. She needs to change herself.

Looks like somebody had to do some fast thinking to ditch that dead end arc from last week.

Writer’s Block week

She’s on her way to becoming a great bag lady…

Makes no sense. She lives at home. With her parents. In a house. With her own room. With free room and board.

Yeah, and your room is a mess too… Pretty much everything is a mess in your life. The humor of messiness is wearing off and it begins to look pathetic.

All the other items are more important to Luann than the math book. I don’t predict Luann winding up in math or the sciences.

While it’s nice to see our eponymous character, I’m seeing no signs of growth unless the subjects are hoarding, depression, and mental health.

Very interested in seeing where this only Luann Luann is going.

I said it yesterday or the day before. The minute LUANN is depicted, all the criticisms and digging and picking at her begin. It NEVER fails.

So much for those who thought yesterday was the harbinger of some big change in Luann’s life and she’d finally gotten on track with a major. Nope, it’s just a week of throwaway gags about “high school was like this, but college is like this.” Gags that would have been better done when Luann just started college rather than seven years later.

So this is a reflective high school versus college week..

That right there is a sure indication of a cluttered mind.

Frame 2 reminds me of my daughter’s backpack when she was in college—it was a black hole!

Does Luann have her own car? Did she get it off-screen? You’d think that would be strip-worthy but I don’t remember anything about it.

I think these authors need to be reminded that their audience wonders why they keep portraying their main character as an unorganized, lazy, unmotivated, mentally challenged slob. Why they do this is beyond me. It just feels sad and it isn’t funny. Luann deserves better as the main character of this comic strip.

I don’t see a plot evolving from today’s toon.

A going to college montage in October is about two months late. And since zLuann HAS BEEN going to college for a couple years, the theme is kind of old as well. Which makes me wonder if Karen has children who are just heading off to school for the first time, making all of this seem fresh to her?

I think you have to start by making priorities. Everything helter skelter suggests no priorities; there’s nothing in there that’s more important to find than something else.

Luann’s life and character has boiled down to a series of bullet points.

A thousand of which books in ebook form would fit in a locket…you couldn’t read ‘em, but they’d be there.

The more things change, the more they stay the same.

Luann is a prime example of the old saying—except that she hasn’t even changed much, if at all, in years!
