Oooohh… Luann for the win! Unprovoked (but deserved) snark at Bernice. lol

I wonder if Luann will tell her that Piro will be reading his essay, at the Spring Fair, as well.

At least we may finally see Nil’s painting.. and find out if it’s any good.

    .

Sounds like the Spring Fair will be a major arc. I wonder who else will be there?

I really am starting to see more and more why so many readers dislike Bernice so much – she really does come across as being a conceited and vapid narcissist at times.

Oo, burn! Luann for the win! I guess Bernice has gotten over her embarrassment as staring at Jack’s junk. I’m sure she had had many a warm night recollecting that incident! But no mention of Piro. What’s up with that?

I totally get how Luann’s comment could be taken as not snarky. I mean, given the choice between a berobed Bernice and a disrobed Jack, I know where my eyes would go first! But, as they say, it’s all in the delivery. And Luann’s delivery is lacking any hint that there might be some humor behind that line. Why are these two still friends?

I think Luann’s point is that Bernice wasn’t naked, and people will be looking beside her, not at her, in the painting.

    Well.

Bernice, Luann, Piro, and Nil (And sometimes Jack) will be at the SAME Spring Fair.

This will be like watching an impending head-on collision, while helplessly honking your horn in a desperate attempt to try to prevent it.

OHHHH so Luann, Piro Bernice’s almost ex she just sorta abandoned instead of ever actually trying to find and may still be into, and Nil who just forced her into a very uncomfortable situation and ignored her are all gonna be in the same community college art fair. Just throw the community college idiots in there and watch it flambe. Also maybe use this to bring back knute and krystal hrmm? Please?

The plot thickens, almost every past arc seems set to collide in the Spring Fair. YEEEEEEESS!!! Can’t wait!! Bernice will see Piro again and at the same time she will be with Nil and Jack, this could destroy her emotionally and lead her to make some massive disaster. Luann will see Jack again after too long, she will talk about Arte with Nil and she will be able to introduce them to Piro (I hope for some reaction from Jack to see her interested in someone). It could also be where the big fight between Luann and Bernice could finally begin! I wonder if Gunther will be involved in the Fair for show an university’s engineering project or he’ll just come because Bets or Tiffany have invited him to the tea stall. Will Stef being there with the trophy she (probably) won at that competition? So many questions and possibilities, i love it!

“Bernice, Nil, Piro, Lu-Ann and Tiff!”

“And Bets and Gunth, and Jack may be there!”

I think the signifying is petty to worry about, I still tease my best friend, and we’ve been friends since 1953! This a setup for the overlapping arc of Bern, Jack and Nil, and Luann and Walt (Piro). I was blown out the water making the mistake (oh, which I know well) trying to predict what comes next last week, but it’s interesting Bern is paired with Nil and Jack, Lu with Piro. How might THAT turn out?

GnK are playing the Luann/Piro relationship very carefully. Too cool? Too cautious?

Apparently the writing theme and the art theme are superimposed ion their minds. I expect we’ll see this back and forth for the remainder of this episode. Then back to Gun and Bets or something to do with Dez’ tea blend.

Will we EVER SEE that painting?? I suspect that, if we do, we will be totally surprised; one way or the other.

Here I was hoping that the author of the romance novel would be at the event, but that’s looking unlikely. I hope Bernice gets some amusing humble pie served to her, given her high falutin attitude whenever she acts like she’s Nil’s merry muse.

The “Spring Fair” has the potential to be a very interesting arc….presuming Greg does show a variety of aspects of it.

    1. I hope we get to see some sort of fun/humorous painting (with meaning) by Nil. For me, this is my most looked forward to aspect of the Fair, as I like Nil as a character quite a bit. I very much like the Nil/Bernice dynamic. I suspect that Nil’s “abstract” vision in his painting will shine through and there will not be any need to pixelate Jack nor any aspect of the painting.

    2. In the story reading, which also should be very good… I am a bit worried that Piro will “bag-out” at the last minute and not read his story… as I suspect it is perhaps still too uncomfortable for him…. be it about his family history, or Bernice, or whatever.

    3. Also in the story reading, I anticipate if Luann reads her work that Greg may somehow choose that Luann does not get any laughter for her story, or that laughter that her story invokes may be at parts that Luann had not intended to be funny. This seems how Greg has portrayed her of late.

    4. I also feel that if Piro DOES read his story, there will be something about his “fondness” for Bernice…. that may lead Luann to be jealous, and have Bernice flummoxed and confused about Nil (which would make me sad).

    5. Maybe (haha) Tara will be selected by her archery instructor to do an archery display/demonstration?!?

    6. Maybe (haha) Tiff, Dez, and Steph’s boyfriend will have a “Tiffany’s Tea” stand at the Spring Fair…. and the resultant hoopla will rival a 60’s era love in or perhaps “Woodstock”?!?!

    OFF-SITE REACTION OF THE DAY:

user Calvin’s Cardboard Box, April 26th, 2023 at 7:20 am

“This strip and its assigned attributes. Luann has cycled through, among other careers, being an amazing actress, a genius at stage design, an artistic savant, an inspired (and inspiring!) teacher, and now a hilarious comedy writer.

None of these actually pan out, of course, It’s like that dream where you are supposed to deliver a speech or make some dramatic reveal at the end, but when the time comes you are half awake and the inspirational speech doesn’t write itself and you just have to wake up and move on.

The Evansi will run as far as they can with this, so long as they never have to let us hear part of her speech, or actually reveal Piro’s ‘intense’ back story, and then drop the whole thing as if it never happened."
