Wonderful. Have contacted Joy, who gets around. Am having fun smiting evil reeeps verbally in a campaign and putting an honest(gasp!) local candidate into office. Wonderful cartoon! I might learn to adjust my entry for the fun of it yet…but be kind to the kind and smite the evil constantly…
A beautiful dive! Starts in the bellyflop position, relaxes back into a 1-1/2 spin, pike position somersault, back into a bellyflop, finally a tuck entry with virtually no splash! All but the China judge gives it a 9.0…that China judge is tough!
While I agree with this sentiment, for some of us life has been such a crucible that we’re not exactly afraid of dying (I won’t go into details, suffice to say my doctors don’t expect me to live another nine years at best thanks to some monumental idiocy on my part as a teenager, which I did thanks to a whole other slew of problems). So to those who will survive to see 40, I say this: Enjoy life while you can. Make the most of it and never forget to have fun at every turn. No matter how minor. To quote and translate Megadeth’s À Tout le Monde, “To everyone, to all my friends, I love you, I must leave.”
The joy, and love, that Wiley keeps reminding us of is that the greatest joy comes from the inner child we keep in our lives. Sometimes it’s playing with a favorite toy, other times, merely marveling at the beauty of a butterfly, or a brilliantly colored leaf come fall, and knowing that come spring, there will be more butterflies, and green leaves. Even Danae actually brings this out.
Now that we’re both in our seventies, we have to agree with some here that is is more fun to play naked, even though we do plenty of sight-seeing too (fully clothed). I also put on a nightgown – to cook breakfast ;-D
The other day, I met a girl named Joy.She said, “Come here, I’m going to make you my Joy Boy”Well, things went good, things went bad,Now every time I think of Joy it makes me sad.
Joy to the world was a beautiful girl,But to me Joy meant only sorrow. — Harry Nilsson
Thank you for your kind words…don’t appreciate my tolerance and kindness too much; have been on a rampage of late at other comics. Not so nice. Sort of feel bad about it, but ignorant statements DO get tiresome. Maybe I shouldn’t worry about truth and moderation so much. (Just private musings going on here, talking to myself…in front of you and whoever else cares to read. Sometimes I do that. Sigh.)
Your tombstone monument will be the Joy you gave to others and not so much the money you made. Someone said: “No success can compensate for failure in the home”.
Hi Mech:Not a problem. Most of us are familiar with Jack and his antics, and pretty much ignore him. And, to be fair, he is considerably more rational than some of the other right-wingers here; he even posts something worthwhile every so often (I’m always embarrassed when I agree with him). He’s not the scary kind. I do agree that his attack was more than a bit hasty, but “no blood, no foul.”
Really? Seems everyone I know has their pool buried in trees, cactus and brambly vines. Life ain’t no dive off in to nirvana. However, you do get points for helping others clear the obstacles.

so who’s this Joy and can i get her number?

It’s even more fun when there’s water in the pool! (of course some folks dive in dry, and land on their heads)

Brilliant Wiley ! Much more fun than Shakespeare’s Ages of Man. The older I get, the more I realize what a joy life really is.

Alas, there are those who so hate joy, they not only deny it to themselves, they try to deny it to others as well.

For all I know, this could just be friends razzing each other in good fun. No tit for tat evident here, so no call.
