Ten is when a mom can stop watching the child like a hawk.

uh, for me it got bad at somewhere north of 10 (and south of 15)… then began to improve at about 19 when I finally got my head out of my (orifice) enough to act human. And though I worked hard in my career(s), I also had some good times, made some friends, made a lot of customers happy, wrote some code that went to Mars… quite a bit of fun in there! I do enjoy my endless Saturdays now, though. Not quite as much as I did pre-covid, alas.

What about the years between birth and ten years of age, Earl? Were those as easy as pie?

I was born to swing!

Seeing Nelson in the swing like that reminds me of twisting the chains around and then spinning in the swing. (You could do it sitting or on your belly like Nelson.)

As one who is between ten and seventy (closer to seventy than ten), I can vouch for Earl.

After 70 not so hot either, Earl!

My 30s were the best. But that was a long, long time ago. sigh

There is truth to the old adage, “Life begins at 40”. Childhood was rough for me, first marriage terrible. Second marriage at 42 and life is now great…especially being retired. (65 now).

Being old is not that great but being retired sure is!

If you manage to get from 10 to 70…

Not the years ….. It’s the mileage ;-)

I wish Brian Crane decided to end the Pickles comic strip for good because of the frequent weeks for the past 2+ years where there’s a mix of new strips mixed in with reruns every week!

No way would I want to be a kid again. My childhood was far from Leave it to Beaver.

Getting old is awesome!!! Look at the alternative!

One good thing about being over seventy is that you don’t need to worry about dying young.

Caught in that awkward stage between preschool and death.

Yep, those 60 years are the toughest!

As usual, Earl is clueless. Reminds me of my Uncle Carl.

My grandmother said the first one hundred years are the hardest.

Speaking for myself, everything was fine until First Grade.

And then, not so much.

My 4 years at St. Xavier High School in Cincinnati were the best 4 years of my 75 year old life.

Oh great……. SCARE the poor kid why don’t ya…!!!!

I wouldn’t trade any of my 70 years for anything. Even the challenges when they arose were rewarding.

As for me, having been put out to pasture is great.

On my tenth birthday, I declared that ten was the best age to be. Almost 47 years later, I’ll stick with that.
