Poor lady. She grew up in the generation that divided house hold chores into his/hers. Now a days I just look up a video or 4 online, along with my handy fix-it book I’ve had for yonks, and fix it myself. It’s not rocket science. Or, if needs must, call a plumber. And Macushlarondra is right; if she waited that long to feed him he would starve to death. I hate to get into these discussions of which is right or wrong. This strip points out why the old system didn’t work well for either spouse.
Ours stopped working about the time our kitchen faucet sprang a leak. I hired a plumber to replace both, which he did with the faucet but showed me how to restart the disposal with an Allen wrench. Guess who gets future business?
There is a garbage disposal in my apartment. After reading the rather long list of things that couldn’t or shouldn’t go through it, I decided to never use it. Not worth it.

I hated a garbage disposal, saw no need for it. Here I can’t have one and I’m OK with that

I have two garbage disposals, I call them teenagers.

I dunno. A good nag is therapeutic….gets lots fixed.

I had a garbage disposal once—and that was enough for me!

Why do you have to keep reminding me every month or so??

That’s because the napping comes to an end, Earl.

I got a couple of projects, I’m dreading. Usually, those go well though. The ones I think are easy sometimes turn into horror shows!!

I’ve had one. Don’t care for them. I just throw the scraps in my garden and it makes compost.

Did you know T-Day is the top day for plumbing problems?

If a man says he will do something, he will! There’s no need to nag him about it every six months!

I’ve never had one, never missed it.

Earl: either fix it or Opal will call a plumber. Do you really want to spend that money?

Opal wants it done when she’s ready. Not when Earl is ready….if he’ll ever be ready is besides the point!

The longer you put off doing a task, the longer the nagging to do that task will persist.

I would get the biggest one that could fit under the sink. The bigger the motor the more abuse it can take.
