I can relate. I’m not overly fond of being social, either. I mean, I can do it, and often even enjoy it, just not as often as some other people (or cats).

Well this explains why she came in a carrier. It’s like her celebrity trailer.

Don’t worry. I think she’ll probably get interested in the goings-on here shortly! Just give her a little time.

And I want to know what books she brought.

I think Sophie’s being very polite here. “No, thank you,” is also a valid response and no reflection on whoever’s making the offer, or the offer itself. Nothing personal.

Our library system is closed for the duration. Luckily I’ve been doing e-books through their Overdrive selection.

So much for those worries about Sophie being in a carrier.

I’m sure Tommy will check in on her (whether she likes it or not) to make sure she’s okay.♥

I love Sophie’s little library sanctuary! It looks cozy in there, too!

Keep away from that cat in the cage, Puck. She’s obviously a notorious dangerous crooked criminal cat who is sentenced to prison. Beware while putting the food inside her cage. She may try to escape!

This is pretty much what Blossom does during vet visits. She hates the kitty carrier, but once she’s in the vet’s office, it becomes her safety zone!

Sophie is such a Princess. But, she’s entitled because she’s so talented.

I’m not doing social distancing. To me it’s just how I prefer life. Good books, cats, and chocolate are mandatory.

Ok – going out on a limb here but I rather think Sophie and at least one of the children are going to bond. Debating whether it’ll be with the boy or girl – but maybe the girl. 8)

See? That’s why I want to be a cat in my next life! Especially: “please leave all meals and snacks at the door”.

Sophie sounds just like my wife Marie. She is not ‘in-person’ social and brings a book or books wherever she goes.

I love her! My kinda cat…! She will drive the crew crazy…

Update: Day 4 Working From Home

Observations….

Pants – They are not necessary.

Taken to renaming my cats after people from work.

One of my co-workers is sitting on my lap purring…Is this work place harassment?

Are the Cats stealing my lunch from the fridge in the break-room, I mean kitchen?

Personal hygiene slipping.

The voices in my head are getting louder…Should I worry?

Breakfast whiskey really good this morning.

Today’s episode is so totally “Sophie” as was the ‘Sunday with Sophie’ where she was reading her mail. My favorites in BCN are Beatrix and Tommy, but I’m also exceedingly fond of Sophie. I’m not creative, and she is, but otherwise we’re similar in many ways.

Sophie sounds like my old high school librarian.

Sophie rocks! It’s just wonderful, getting to know her a little better. Georgia, you are SO good at showing us these characters and their diverse personalities. It’s a rare talent to be able to get inside another’s skin, show what makes them tick, and make us sympathetic to them. Gold stars to you! <3<3<3

Ah, Sophie, a cat after my own heart. Yum Yum is not at all fond of other people, either. I am looking at her right now and can picture her reading a book.

Today is Poultry Day. Take a fowl to dinner … Is there anyone who doesn’t like poultry, in one form or other? There is an old saying: There are no foul fowls. (Unless they’ve gone off.) So celebrate with the fowl of your choice.

Despite what some annoying extroverts say, there’s no shame in being an introvert, Sophie. It’s who you are so be proud! My sister, the psychologist, gave me an excellent definition of the two natures. Extroverts are energized by the presence of other people. Introverts are exhausted after being around other people.

Sophie will have to use the litter box eventually-she will have to come out of her carrier.

This kind of upsets me. My best friend had loved books (more than life itself I think.) And when she FINALLY invited me over one time I had to turn her down. because I was sick . A few nights later her dad was called . My friend hadn’t answered her door in the past few nights & packages (of books) were piled up against her door. My friend was dead in her apt & it had been FILTHY!!

OT: Cat Fight

I got my wife a couple of t-shirts that have cartoon cats on them with the caption: “Ew. People.” I hope she returns the favor.

“The Set-Up”. I suspect her public persona is hiding an alter-ego version, just waiting for the perfect moment for an artistic, dramatic “reveal”….

Sophie’s carrier is like the Tardis!

I suspect ‘Tusslemania’ might bring out a whole different side to our beloved bookworm. Wrestling is a form of dance… a story told via motion, so it is super tough for cats to resist. Plus, all cats feel that their cat mojo are is greatest. I can see Sophie reading from atop the pile of her defeated adversaries… Now toddlers is a whole ’nother thing…

I made a mistake today.

I completely get this. It’s not that I don’t like being around other people, I just like listening more than talking. Even on Gocomics, I love reading comments, but this is one of my super rare posts! And while I love my own kids, other people’s children make me nervous.

Sassy says, “I like this self isolation thing. I’m perfectly happy when Mom doesn’t have company and it’s just us. Well, us and the dog.”

I do relate to Sophie on some level, I could consider myself an introvert at some level. That being said, even if she doesn’t mean any harm, she does come across as a little bit snobby in this comic. I don’t blame her, but she might have worded it a bit nicer.

She reminds me of the Oscar Wilde quote – I never travel without my diary. One should always have something sensational to read in the train. I would assume that Sophie’s diary is more cerebral than scandalous.

I’m with you Sophie, I am not very social either and certainly can do without children also.
