Sorry, but I won’t be posting here for a while. I’ve been unemployed for a few months so I’ve taken a temporary job while I search for something more permanent. Since the workday starts at 7:00, staying up until 10 to post is now way past my bedtime. Hopefully I can get some weekend posts in. See ya!

October BCN calendar: Tilly on one side of a jack-o-lantern, Puck (on all fours!) on the other, OZ’s green eye in one of the jack-o-lantern’s eyes, and Iggy’s green eye in the other eye. Iggy’s paw is sticking out of the mouth, with toe beans, and paw pad to the fore! Very spooky looking!

That little mark above Puck’s head in panel three: would you call it a “huh?” symbol that leads to Puck’s OMC look in the last panel?

I read it on the internet so it must be true.

He’ll find out soon what that light is.

And so it begins…I’m reminded of a time when I saw a bright green glow through the little windows of my front door. Really green. Really weird. Not at holiday time. No neon signs within miles. And I was too big a coward to investigate (I’m from WV and grew up with a fear of the Mothman, and space aliens in general—theres one creature from the original Star Trek that still gives me the creeps). So, the truth may have been out there, but I’ll never know.

Thank you to all of the wellwishers for my cousin’s floof cat! His name is Skeeter, and he’s doing very well tonight. They say the antibiotics seem to be helping, the swelling in the cyst is going down, and he is being AMAZINGLY good about letting them give them to him!

And so … it begins.

I’m confused, did the woman, kids and cats move to Vermont? It is after all the state with the most reports for alien abductions. (Don’t worry, Georgia made the top 10 list.) This would be a perfect story line for the BCN news teams. “Local kittens abducted by Aliens! Probe report at Eleven.”

Georgia could get at least three weeks of strips out of an Alien Abduction story line, maybe even a month or more. There could be the mystery solving angle, the Elvis Poofs up all the time angle, Burt could continually have “technical difficulties” due to the “interference” of the Alien beings. There are all kinds of directions such a story line could go. Alas, in the end however, it will be learned that Iggy and Ora Zella weren’t really abducted at all, they had just gotten old enough to be “fixed.”

I have a very BCN situation unfolding in my backyard right now. Chimney surround being replaced and the guys are here tearing down the old chimney. The workmen don’t speak a lot of English but thanks to the magic of Google translate on a phone we get on okay. So I hear them taking turns whistling, clearly trying to attract the attention of some creature or another, and then realize Dilly the Pickle Princess is atop the bookshelf next to the upstairs window with her head poked through the blinds watching them. Unlike Lupin who has a similar friendship with workmen, our Dilly really is a pretty princess!

Just got home from my first day at work. I’m a temporary (until Dec 31) packer in a warehouse getting a bit over minimum wage, a 90% pay decrease. But it will pay the dentist bill, and get me to the new year when I’ll start getting Social Security, which will take some of the pressure off.
